Just got a voice message from so call IRS John Watson with a very strong hindu accent go figure...stating they were calling about an audit they did n found some kind discrepancy....I tried calling the # back n it doesn't even ring....This is a scam please beware!!!!

Claimed to be an IRS Criminal Investigator and wanted to talk to my wife about a tax matter. Didn't make sense because I'm the breadwinner for the family. After some questioning that included asking why the number of digits on his boss's badge number was different from hhis and why the phone number isn't listed as an IRS number, the guy started getting abusive and began swearing, using the F-bomb. You might want to call the IRS and tell them this guy is impersonating a federal law enforcement officer.

called me three times early in the morning & would not identify his employer, only said it was an irs matter. HOKEY as all get out!

called me at 8am to tell me they were the IRS and I owed $24,000 in back taxes and wanted the name of my attorney so they could fax the paperwork to them to have them forward it to us and they were going to start legal proceedings against me to collect the money. I called the local IRS office, which is closed, due to the government shutdown. I called my tax attorney who said it's a scam for sure.
