These people called on a Saturday afternoon around 3:00 p.m. askingto give them a credit card number, as our payment was NSF for a cheque regarding a cogeco bill from two months previous. We pay our bills by automatic deposit, not by cheque. This was highly suspicious asking for credit card numbers over the phone without any way to verify who the caller was (unknown name came as caller id). Also calling regarding something two months past for an NSF cheque written when cogeco, who is our internet provider would have called immediately had there truly been a credit issue was suspicious. I did call the number back and the answering service did say "Welcome to Cogeco Billing", however I would ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUST THIS. For certain a letter would have been sent to us regarding the problem, or an e-mail. FOR YOUR PROTECTION DO NOT GIVE CREDIT INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!!!!! We certainly DID NOT. BEWARE PEOPLE!
