The Most Influential Celebrity Baby Names Of 2015
Huffington Post - about 1 year
Some of most popular names in the U.S. today prove that celebrities influence baby name trends. Nicole Richie’s Harlow, Gwen Stefani’s Kingston, and half of the names chosen by the Jolie-Pitts have risen in popularity thanks to famous families. High profile birth announcements can take an already rising name and put it on more parents' short lists, like Channing Tatum’s Everly. Or it can transform an obscure choice, like Marlowe, into everyone’s new favorite. As 2015 draws to a close, Nameberry takes a look at the celebrity baby name choices likely to influence baby naming in 2016 and beyond. Charlotte One of biggest celebrity stories of 2015 was the birth of Her Royal Highness, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge. Just days after Charlotte’s birth was announced, we learned that the name had cracked the U.S. top 10. It’s a classic choice, not a trendy one, but it’s still a name to watch in 2016. Josey Naya Rivera named her baby boy Josey, a name traditional ...

On the Set: Criminal Minds Celebrates 200 Episodes
Seattle Pi - about 3 years
On Criminal Minds' Glendale, California, soundstage, cast members look far happier than they ever do on the show. A massive cake, spattered with fake blood splotches to commemorate the CBS series' 200th episode, rests before a podium as star Joe Mantegna, who plays Special Agent David Rossi, speaks triumphantly to the actors and crew. [...] Criminal Minds has survived not only critical beatdowns but also sundry casting upheavals, emerging as an enduring, if often disturbing, hit. Charting the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit's efforts to track down the most demented bad guys and gals before they slay again, it has routinely been Wednesday night's highest-rated show during the last nine seasons. The show succeeded out of the gate in 2005, but its future was put in jeopardy when star Mandy Patinkin quit abruptly in its third season because of moral objections to the dark material. In 2010, producers were forced to cut cast members to save money, resulting in the departures of A.J. Co ...

Paget Brewster Returning To 'Criminal Minds'
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Paget Brewster is returning to "Criminal Minds." Brewster, who was last seen on "Criminal Minds" in May 2012, will appear as Emily Prentiss in the 200th episode. Brewster starred in six seasons of the CBS procedural. “Our 200th episode is going to be a special show,” Erica Messer, executive producer/showrunner, said in a statement. “We can’t imagine telling this story without Paget being present.” In the episode, viewers will get glimpses into the past and learn what happened to JJ Jareau (A.J. Cook) during her time away from the BAU. The past will also be valuable to the present day case. Brewster teased her return on Twitter in early September. I sure hope @Dayne9165 has been keeping my make up hidden in a cupboard for a reason... pic.twitter.com/5TaWUpWhrX — paget brewster (@pagetpaget) September 17, 2013 The 200th episode will air later this season. "Criminal Minds" airs Wednesdays, 9 p.m. ET on CBS.

Criminal Minds Casts CSI: Miami Veteran Eva LaRue
Boom Tron - over 3 years
Criminal Minds will be getting itself a new, but likely familiar face, to anyone who has been absolutely glued to CBS these last several years or so. Eva LaRue is guest starring in an upcoming Season 9 episode, so try to contain your excitment. I find it rather humorous she would take this gig. With CSI: Miami behind her, despite the seven years she spent on the job, LaRue must have been feeling that aching long that only actors of CBS crime procedurals must feel. Why else would she want to return to this world of popular, if not critically loved, television? Oh, that’s right. There’s money to be gained by doing this work. In all seriousness, it sounds like LaRue had a blast working on set alongside the likes of Shemar Moore and A.J. Cook. She even posted a photo to Instagram looking completely happy at where she is. In fact, it was LaRue who announced her own casting, posting to her Twitter account “Wish I were still playing Natalia on CSI Miami, but playing Agent Mays on Criminal ...

Scoop On The 'Criminal Minds' Premiere
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Camryn Manheim will be paying a visit to "Criminal Minds" for the CBS drama's two-part Season 9 premiere, according to TV Line. The "Ghost Whisperer" alumna will play "the mother of an UnSub" who is "very protective and watchful over her son, whom she knows has some serious emotional problems," which chiefly include killing women who happen to look like his ex-girlfriend. To make this happy family even more appealing, rumor has it that Manheim's character has some skeletons in her own closet, too. She'll appear in the two-part season premiere, which kicks off Wednesday, September 25 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. Also ahead for Season 9? Star Joe Mantegna will direct an episode! "Criminal Minds" fans had a bit of a scare before the show was renewed for Season 9 -- cast negotiations for contract renewals went down to the wire, prompting worries that stars Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook might leave the show. Thankfully, the entire cast was secured for another season and th ...

Junk TV Round-Up: BURN NOTICE, MOB DOCTOR, CRIMINAL MINDS, TRANSPORTER
Boom Tron - over 4 years
All right, you buncha undercooked couch potatoes, limber up your DVR and pretend like you don’t need any friends, it’s time for more junk TV. Sleeper hit Burn Notice has its sixth season premiere tonight, and I’m betting the suits over at the USA Network haven’t been this pleased since they dug Silk Stalkings out of CBS’s garbage.  Series creator Matt Nix had a chat with the good folks over at TVLine and he explains that this will be a very different season.  Which, yes, every series creator says before a premiere, but I think Nix actually means it this time.  As you may (or may not) recall, the end of last season found the sweet(?) and precious(!) Fiona in the slammer after she turned herself in for blowing up the consulate.  This canny move totally threw a monkey wrench in Anson’s plans (Jere Burns, be on every show ever from now on, please and thanks), but now as noted little Fi is in jail.  If anybody knows how to jail, it’s her, but as Nix points out, generally speaking Burn N ...

'Chuck' Actor Vik Sahay to Star in Horror Flick 'WER'
The Wrap - almost 5 years
Vik Sahay, perhaps best known as Lester Patel from NBC's “Chuck,” has joined the cast of “WER,” an upcoming horror film from director William Brent Bell. Sahay, coming off a turn in Universal's “American Reunion,” is one of the three leads in a cast that also includes A.J. Cook from CBS' “Criminal Minds,” Simon Quarterman from “The Devil Inside” and Brian J. O'Connor from “Epic Movie.” Sahay will play Eric Sarin, a member of an investigative team looking into the murder of an American family in Paris. The script comes from Bell and Matt Peterman, who co-wrote "The Devil Inside," with Bell directing. Also Read: How 'Devil Inside' Beat Box Office Expectations “At first I struggled making the decision to do the film because I was offered a TV pilot and have had a great experience with television,” Sahay said in a statement. “But I haven't done much horror in the past and thanks to William and Matt's script, I will be taken back into dramatic water after many wonderful years ...

More 'Criminal Minds' Finale Goods: Casting News and Speculation
Buddy TV - almost 5 years
We've already touched upon the various storylines set to happen in the Criminal Minds season finale on May 16. To recap: the special two-hour finale will feature the team dealing with a hostage situation at a federal bank, including a guest appearance by Battlestar Galactica's Tricia Helfer. The final episode will also include a wedding for one of the BAU members and, most notably, the departure of Paget Brewster's Emily Prentiss. But the finale will also feature some other guest stars, which leads us to believe some drama may be on the horizon for JJ (A.J. Cook) and another unknown team member.

DOMESTIC LIVES; David Shaftel: The Food Was Great, the Groveling Wasn’t
NYTimes - over 5 years
LAST year, when my girlfriend accepted a job in Mumbai, we had to find an apartment on short notice, a daunting task in that city’s drastically oversubscribed housing market. But we were lucky, finding a cheap sublet at one of the city’s most desirable addresses, in the Churchgate neighborhood of south Mumbai’s Art Deco precinct.

$25 AND UNDER; Do or Dine — NYC — Restaurant Review
NYTimes - over 5 years
THE smoked salmon pâté arrived in an ashtray. “Breadblunt?” a waiter murmured, proffering breadsticks from a battered Dutch Masters cigar box. A disco ball winked lazily above. Outside it was Bed-Stuy, Do or Die — hence, the pun of the restaurant’s name: Do or Dine. Was that a groan? There is reason to be
