Felon arrested after he shoots at woman, barricades himself, city police said
The Sacramento Bee - almost 4 years
An armed man barricaded himself in an Oak Park home for almost five hours Saturday night before surrendering to Sacramento SWAT and negotiators, according to police. The incident began about 7 p.m. when city police received a report of a shot being fired in the 3400 block of San Jose Way. The suspect reportedly yelled at a woman for parking her car in front of his house, then pointed a gun at her and fired, police said. The woman was not injured. The suspect then went into his house. When police officers arrived on the scene, he refused to come out. A hostage negotiation team and SWAT responded to the scene, and the standoff ended when the suspect finally exited the home about 11:40 p.m., said police. Alan Myles, 52, was booked into Sacramento County jail on counts of assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
