Huffington Post - about 3 years
After nine successful seasons, CBS' hit show "How I Met Your Mother" will soon air its series finale, and for the show's stars, it will be the end of an era. The original cast appeared on "The Talk" on Monday (Jan. 27) to discuss the show's 200th episode and its impending series finale. Alyson Hannigan got especially emotional when asked what she would miss about Jason Segel, her onscreen husband. As one might expect, they've grown close during their nine years on the show together and have developed a close friendship. "He's just, he's such a wonderful guy," Hannigan said. As she spoke, she began to tear up, but she played it off, joking, "I'm not going to miss him." "I'm not good at answering this question, at all," she continued. "I'm on a daytime talk show, crying. This isn't how it's supposed to go." The feeling's mutual for Segel. He didn't turn on the waterworks when asked what he would miss about her, but he give a heartfelt response, saying that she's helped him lear ...

How I Met Your Mother Retreads Old Ground In The Best Way Possible
Boom Tron - over 3 years
What makes How I Met Your Mother so fun to watch, even this late in the game, is how easily it can fall back on old gags and have them still hit hard in a good way. “The Broken Code” retread’s a lot of familiar ground (Barney banging Ted’s mom, the Bro Code, Patrice, Ted’s feelings for Robin, Billy Zabka), but it’s hardly unwelcome. I’d take a half-hour of reused jokes that work than a bunch of new ones that all fall flat. So “The Broken Code” isn’t groundbreaking television; it doesn’t need to be. It’s serviceable and enjoyable to watch and you’ll laugh more than you might from watching a different sitcom. That’s the HIMYM guarantee. Picking up from where we left off, Barney confronts Ted about the weird moment he witnessed between Ted and Robin at the carousel. Ted brushes it aside as a friend comforting another friend and Barney seemingly lets it slide. But it isn’t long afterwards that it becomes painfully clear Barney isn’t going to let Ted off the hook that easily. He takes a ...
