Chris Harnick: 'The Good Wife' Recap: What's The Deal With Lana?
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Note: Do not read on if you have not yet seen Season 4, Episode 5 of CBS' "The Good Wife," titled "Waiting For The Knock." While "The Good Wife" was "Waiting For The Knock," I was waiting to be sufficiently entertained. Don't get me wrong, this episode had highlights, but for the most part, it was a bit lacking. Lemond Bishop returned -- always enjoy when characters recur -- in need of Lockhart/Gardner's assistance. His accountant was arrested, but for what remained unclear until he called in his team; legitimate business attorneys Lockhart/Gardner and drug lawyer Lesli Rand (Annabella Sciorra). Thanks to Clarke (Nathan Lane) -- and we can all agree that this will be the episode he submits for an Emmy, right? -- and Cary, the team realized it's on the legitimate side with an informant tipping the FBI off about steroids at a health club. The informant is found dead and the FBI had enough to arrest Bishop. Clarke and Cary's budding friendship was definitely a highlig ...

Denette Wilford: Fall TV 2012: 10 Shows You Can't Miss
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Hi there, my name is Denette Wilford and I like fluffy TV. No, not trashy, guilty pleasure stuff (OK, well, not always), and not super-important, super-serious fare that gives me a knot in my stomach for an entire hour for its entire season. Rather, I like my shows to be a fun and light escape, occasionally suspenseful, often action-packed but, most importantly, entertaining. Oh, and a heads-up, I also tend to gravitate towards shows that have me reaching for Kleenex during its heart-wrenching moments (ahem, "Friday Night Lights," "Parenthood"). While I've been a TV critic for a few years now and I have watched just about every show at least once, my taste in TV hasn't changed. I'm still an avid viewer, loyal to the major networks. So if you're like me, just an average person who loves TV, then you might want to check out what shows I'll be watching this season. New Must-See Shows "The Mindy Project" Debuts: Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 9:30 p.m. ET on Citytv/Fox "The Mindy ...

This Week In Discs: Safe, The Five-Year Engagement, Piranha 3DD and More
Film School Rejects - over 4 years
Welcome back to This Week In Discs! As always, if you see something you like, click on the image to buy it. Quick A motorcycle courier finds himself targeted by police after a mysterious man forces him to deliver bombs to various addresses while an ex-girlfriend unlucky enough to have strapped an explosive helmet to her head comes along for the ride. This Korean effort takes the single plot thread of Speed and combines it with a lot of goofiness. The action runs the gamut of cartoony to thrilling, but it’s never less than entertaining. There’s also a little bit of heart to add more weight to the matter, but it’s never enough to extinguish the goofy fun. I’ll be honest… this is casual entertainment and a rental at best for most folks, but those of you as partial to Korean films as I am may want to pick it up too. Also available on DVD. [Extras: Making of, trailer, featurettes] Parks & Recreation: Complete Season Four Pitch: This is literally one of NBC’s Thursday ...

Miley Cyrus Reportedly Lands Role On 'Two And A Half Men'
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Miley Cyrus is reportedly stopping by "Two and a Half Men." The 19-year old, newly-engaged actress will be playing a "hot new local in town that's dating soon-to-be-legal Jake Harper (Angus T. Jones)" on the CBS sitcom, Life of the Rich and Famous reports. Later in Cyrus' alleged multiple-episode arc, Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher) will develop a "massive crush" on Cyrus' character. LOTRAF claims Cyrus' management made the pitch CBS to land her the recurring role. CBS has not yet replied to a request for comment. In other casting news: Annabella Sciorra is heading to "The Good Wife." She joins her fellow "Sopranos" alum Julianna Margulies as Alicia's doppleganger and a bold and bright attorney, who specializes in gangs. Sciorra could also cross paths with her former "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" co-star Chris Noth on the CBS drama. [TVLine] Jodi Lyn O'Keefe will create a love triangle on "Castle." Castle and Beckett aren't going to get together so easy. ...
