Malin Akerman On 'Trophy Wife': 'Welcome To The Real World'
Huffington Post - about 3 years
Malin Akerman's personal life may be going through an upheaval but it's not all sad. Her comedy, "Trophy Wife," was one of a handful of shows ABC picked up for a full season, and she and the cast are enjoying both the critical acclaim and the love from audiences. Plus, the new mom gets to bring her eight-month-old Sebastian to work every day on the set -- always a perk. HuffPost Canada TV spoke with the Toronto native over the phone and chatted about the parenting tips she's getting on the set, whether Kate and Pete (Bradley Whitford) can expect their own baby, and the chances of a "Suburgatory" return. Do you get a chance to visit Toronto often? Malin Akerman: I wish it was more often. It hasn't been much lately. It's the funniest thing all of a sudden when you live in California, everyone wants to visit you. I don't get over as often as I like, I try to make it over once a year to see family and friends and all that kind of fun stuff, but with work now and a new baby, it's harder. ...

Paula Patton, Anna Paquin And More In This Week's Best And Worst Beauty (PHOTOS)
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Between Paris Fashion Week and fall movie premieres, this has been one exciting week for beauty. Salma Hayek sat front row at Balenciaga's Spring 2014 show sporting the "barely there" makeup look we saw take over the runways. We couldn't miss Paula Patton on the red carpet with her bright cheeks and lips. However, Anna Faris' blonde bombshell moment at the 2013 Emmy Awards is a bad memory we can't seem to erase. See our picks for this week's best and worst beauty looks and tell us what you think. BEST: Paula Patton The "Baggage Claim" star looks oh so pretty with her side-swept curls, rosy cheeks and red lips. What kept this bright makeup look from steering wrong was Patton's clean and simple eye makeup. BEST: Salma Hayek Now this is a lesson on how to do minimal makeup. Hayek's thick brows, long lashes finely coated in mascara and just a touch of lip gloss make a powerful statement without trying too hard. BEST: Naomi Campbell The supermodel's strands are sleek and ...

Rena Sofer Cast On 'Once Upon A Time'
Huffington Post - about 4 years
We think that the casting director on "Once Upon A Time" must possess magical powers, since the show has conjured up yet another ideal actor, this time to play Snow White's mother. According to TV Guide, Rena Sofer will play Queen Eva, the mother of Ginnifer Goodwin's kick-ass princess. She'll be seen in flashbacks in at least one episode, alongside the equally perfect Bailee Madison (who plays young Snow), which is scheduled to air in early March. In other casting news ... Young star Bailee Madison discusses filming in Atlanta
ajc - over 4 years
A movie still from "Smart Cookies" Young actress Bailee Madison spent a good bit of time in Atlanta last year filming “Parental Guidance, ” a family comedy, to be released this Christmas, that stars Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei. “Bette Midler I got to work with most. She was my grandma in the film. She loves Broadway. She’d always be singing. We’d sing, ‘Poison I-vvvvyy!’ That was a blast.” While the 12-year-old loved working with the movie’s well-known stars, she took time to meet everyone who worked on the movie, including the many young extras needed for the film. “There were tons of background [extras]. Mom took me into their lunch tent, ” Bailee said. “They have become our friends forever now. I am so blessed.” She was back in town recently to spend time with her Atlanta BFFs — and to raise money for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, a charity she serves as national youth spokeswoman. Alex Simon: Jackson Rathbone Trades His Fangs for Cowgirls 'n Angels
Huffington Post - almost 5 years
Born in Singapore and raised in Midland, Tex., actor Jackson Rathbone became a household name after landing the role of Jasper Hale in the Twilight films, playing a brooding vampire who seems to be undergoing a constant crisis of conscience. Having just wrapped the fourth film in the series, Breaking Dawn Part II, Jackson is currently promoting Cowgirls 'n Angels, a family western set among the world of professional rodeos, in which he plays Justin, an affable cowpoke who gets a taste of youthful romance. The Samuel Goldwyn Films release, which also stars Bailee Madison, Alicia Witt and James Cromwell, arrives in limited release May 25. Does the fact that you're a Texan give you a natural inclination towards horses and anything western? Jackson Rathbone: (laughs) I'm definitely a big fan of Westerns. I grew up loving all the spaghetti westerns and am a huge Clint Eastwood fan. So to get a chance to do a western and a family film was too good an opportunity to pass u ...

“Once Upon A Time” — The Return episode review
Blast Magazine - almost 5 years
August's (Eion Bailey) identity is shrouded in fog as he searches for some magic in Storybrooke. 2.5 out of 5 stars Three weeks ago now, “The Stable Boy” billed itself as the big reveal. It was going to answer the supposedly essential question of why the hell the Evil Queen hated Snow White so damn much. I thought the episode had its redeeming qualities—the girl who played Young Snow White, Bailee Madison, was a dead wringer for a younger Ginnifer Goodwin for one—but I was unsatisfied with the answer, which was just a variation of the usual conflict in Fairy Tale Land: lost love. However, after seeing tonight’s episode I appreciate the brunt approach of that episode even more. Though creatively the backstory was stale, at least that question isn’t being dangled before me anymore. “The Return” is the perfect name for this episode because it took all the momentum back to where we started. In the real world, more questions heaped on the existing ones and virtually everything retu ...

MOVIE REVIEW | 'DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK'; A Renovation Uncovers Nastier Things Than Dust

More bump-in-the-night than blood-on-the-ground, ''Don't Be Afraid of the Dark'' is an old-fashioned spooker suggesting that dysfunctional families might benefit more from malignant demons than from a benign therapist.
