Barbara Lawrence
Barbara Jo Lawrence is an American writer and real-estate businessperson, and retired actress and model. Born to Morris and Bereniece (née Eaton) Lawrence in Carnegie, Oklahoma, she moved with her mother to Kansas City, Missouri as an adolescent. Lawrence's career began as a child photographer's model. She appeared in her first film, Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe (1945). She was featured in the swashbuckler, Captain from Castile (1947) with Tyrone Power.

Belugas are so vocal that they’re often called “sea canaries”. William Schevill and Barbara Lawrence – the first scientists to study beluga sounds in the wild – wrote that the calls would occasionally “suggest a crowd of children shouting in the distance”. Wenham voters will make a series of important decisions on Saturday – in the morning having a say about who will join the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee and in the afternoon taking a vote on the fiscal 2013 budget and a proposed zoning change for the Mullen property, among other decisions at the Annual Town Meeting. To the Editor: I would like to recommend Barbara Lawrence for the position on School Committee in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District. Since moving to Hamilton in 2004, Barbara has been very active in the community and government. Her experience in education runs from teaching to administration to research and author - all excellent and important qualifications. She has three grandchildren either in or about to enter the Hamilton-Wenham school system. Her slogan “Committed to Kids plus Community” says a great deal about her commitment to the children and the school system. Barbara has made a commitment to “listen.” She will listen to students, community members, administrators, town officials and anyone with concerns and suggestions.
