'Girl Meets World' Season Expanded To 21 Episodes
Huffington Post - about 3 years
In a very encouraging sign for all the fans waiting anxiously for the premiere of "Girl Meets World" on Disney Channel, the network has already ordered an additional eight episodes, bringing its Season 1 total to 21 episodes. Considering the "Boy Meets World" sequel series hasn't even premiered yet, that's pretty encouraging. In fact, all we know so far is that it's coming sometime in 2014. Danielle Fishel, who's reprising her "Boy Meets World" role alongside Ben Savage, broke the news via Twitter. "Can't wait for everyone to see them all," she wrote. This may be the first Disney Channel original series that has as many parents excited about it as it does kids. In the sequel series, Cory and Topanga are married and their daughter takes over the central narrative. But that won't stop millions of "BMW" fans from tuning in. After all, many of those original "BMW" fans -- it aired from 1993 to 2000 on ABC -- are parents themselves now. They'll be able to relate to their favorite couple a ...

What was it like growing up onscreen? Wonderful! I don’t have any complaints. Even during the years when I was awkward-looking or overweight, it didn’t really worry me that millions of people were watching me go through it. I get my self-worth from within, not external validation, so I just look at all those years as scripted home movies. You've said you're really enjoying working with Ben Savage again. Danielle Fishel: The Girl Next Door Turned Hollywood Hottie
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
Growing up in the '90s, we envied Danielle Fishel. The "Boy Meets World" star had the thickest hair, brightest smile and she played T.G.I.F. cutie Ben Savage's girlfriend. As we watched Cory and Topanga's friendship blossom into a relationship, we also followed Fishel's fashion moves. Her girl-next-door look on the ABC show was all about crop tops, denim vests, high-waisted jeans and chunky boots. On the red carpet, the Arizona native favored feminine dresses and skirts that hit below the knee and platform sandals. But that was then. If Fishel had been wanting to free herself of comparisons to her 1990s TV character, posing in sexy underwear for the cover of Maxim was certainly one way to do it. Who knew Topanga had it in her? In celebration of Danielle Fishel's 32nd birthday on Sunday (May 5), we are taking a look back at some of her most memorable fashion moments. Cory and Topanga forever! With everyone's nostalgia for "TGIF" piqued by the upcoming "Boy Meets World" spinoff, we thought we'd revisit our old crush from that era. No, it's not Cory Matthews (sorry, Ben Savage). It's Scott Weinger, who played DJ's boyfriend Steve on "Full House." (Has enough time passed since their split for us to ask him out?) Here are some fun facts about Weinger, 37, you might not remember. 1. He was the titular voice of Disney's classic "Aladdin." (For us, there was pretty much nothing more important than "Full House" and "Aladdin" circa 1992). 2. He writes for the new iteration of "90210." The 31-year-old star will reprise her role as Topanga Lawrence-Matthews on the upcoming spinoff series "Girl Meets World," in which she and co-star Ben Savage are now the parents of a tween girl. Fishel has faded from the spotlight since "Boy Meets World" ended its seven-season run in 2000. Maxim was eager to take a walk down memory lane with the actress, and wanted to know if she ever partied with the rest of the TGIF crew: "One time we were all on a private jet going to Disney World, and my mom, dad, and brother were also with me. We had these four seats facing each other with curtains, so we had our own little private family area. Anyway, we were trying to take a nap, and all of a sudden Bob Saget [who was starring on "Full House" at the time] walks down the aisle, rips open our curtain, and shouts, “Do you guys have any coke?!” Then he looks my ...
