Comedian Chris Hardwick's father, champion bowler Billy Hardwick, passed away last weekend. Fans of Chris, especially his interview show The Nerdist Podcast, are familiar with Chris' relationship with his father -- he even interviewed him about his days as a Hall of Famer in the '60s and '70s. On Sunday's "Talking Dead," one of the TV shows Chris hosts (along with, currently, "@Midnight"), he spent the last moment of the show praising his father, and reminded his audience to never take their family for granted. Here's what he said: "I don't want things to get weird, but my dad passed away suddenly yesterday. I didn't know if I was going to come into work, but I like this job, and it was a nice distraction. I want to thank everyone online. It was one of the times that the Internet was... it was really nice.     According to his son, Chris Hardwick on the Opie & Anthony Show on August 12, 2010, Hardwick was the last athlete to film a beer commercial profiling athletes.

A decision was made after that commercial that it would make a bad impression on the youth to give the message that if you want to become a champion, you should drink. He is the father of the comedian and television personality Chris Hardwick, as well as Eddie Hardwick, an Art Major at UC Santa Cruz.
