Charlie Sheen Reveals Real Reason Behind Comedy Tour
Huffington Post - about 4 years
Charlie Sheen admitted that his infamous 2011 "comedy tour" came about because the troubled actor had no other income. Sheen revealed to Piers Morgan that he went on his "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option" tour because he was financially hurting after being publicly fired from the CBS hit series "Two and a Half Men." "It was brutal," he told Morgan during the Friday night interview. "I was not 'winning' at all. I think what a lot of people don't realize is I was completely broke, because, you know, when they kept my back-end and fired me and all that, I didn't have any money left. So, I was using the tour to actually pay child support and mortgages and stuff like that. You know? So I'm grateful for that." Sheen said that opening night in Detroit was the moment he questioned if he might give it all up. "It was in Detroit ... that was bad," he said. "Detroit was bad ... [I was] dodging stuff. Literally dodging stuff." The Detroit show was married by b ...

Geoff Cox’s DVD guide: War Horse, Four, Transit
The Bucks Herald - almost 5 years
STEVEN Spielberg’s grandiose equine saga WAR HORSE (12: Walt Disney) is an old-fashioned crowd-pleaser. Following the critically acclaimed stage production, Spielberg’s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s 1982 novel is a showcase for the director’s sure sense of storytelling and trademark visual flourishes. This moving odyssey outlines the suffering of the First World War and the appalling loss of life, but it remains family-friendly. Sold to the British army, thoroughbred Joey is captured by Germans and hidden by a French peasant, while tracked by the Devon farmer’s son (Jeremy Irvine) who trained and nurtured him. The bond between the boy and the horse is so close that he refuses to give up on being reunited despite the animal passing through various owners on both sides as he travels across the battlefields of France. Full of stirring spectacle and poignant moments, War Horse is lavish and gripping, if a little Disneyfied at times. Although much of the story is knowingly designed ...

Strippers Vs Werewolves Review
HeyUGuys.co.uk - almost 5 years
Director Jonathan Glendening of 13Hrs werewolf notoriety doesn’t move that far away from his furry feral fiends in his latest grizzly flick, Strippers Vs Werewolves. This exceptionally daft, tongue-in-cheek pastiche of the erotic slasher B-movie also taps into the comic-book filmmaking fascination of recent years with deviant glee, but all with the sole purpose of entertaining in the most blood spewing and badly acted way. And for those who never tire of Robert ‘Freddy’ Englund cameos, there’s a treat for fans too. After werewolf Mickey (Martin Kemp) is accidentally killed in strip club Vixens, the girls who work there have until the next full moon to work out how to respond and defend themselves, before his bloodthirsty wolf pack, led by Jack Ferris (Billy Murray), work out who is responsible and seek murderous retribution. It’s not the pulpy title or necessarily the opening title sequence to Duran Duran’s ‘Hungry Like A Wolf” that pricks the interest, but the first doggy dispos ...
