Mr. Nettles' Wild Ride
Eugene Nettles, 37, of Hazel Crest, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said they received reports of a motorist driving at a high rate of speed “all over the road” around 2:41 a.m. After stopping Nettles, police said they smelled alcohol on his breath and cannabis from inside his vehicle. According to reports, Nettles told police he had been drinking at a friend’s house, but it was they, not he, who had toked. He was also ticketed for speeding and driving with expired registration.
FRIDAY, APRIL 27
Lynette Smedley, 29, of Country Club Hills, was charged with retail theft. Police said Smedley hid clothing items with a retail value of $160.94 in her purse and walked out of a store in the 17500 block of Halsted without paying.
