As of 2002/2003, Forster was a race car driver in Northern California, and continued to act in community theater there. On one occasion, a fan asked Forster what he thought of the movie Days of Thunder. He replied that it was " very fake and phony." Forster had taken a girlfriend (who also happened to be one of his racing students) to see the film; she asked him to tap her shoulder every time there was a "flub" on-screen. "She got very little sleep while that picture was running," joked Forster.
