Margo Martindale Knows Her Way Around Southern Stereotypes, But Here's Where She Draws The Line
Huffington Post - 10 months
Character Actress Margo Martindale will play a bank-robbing animated version of herself, she'll look Meryl Streep in the eyes and reveal she slept with her husband, and she'll seek revenge by serving a dude poisonous moonshine. So where does Character Actress Margo Martindale draw the line when choosing roles? Recently, it was with a particular slur.  In "Mother's Day," Martindale plays a racist, homophobic, redneck grandmother named Flo. The movie, which opens Friday, marks the third holiday-centered omnibus in which "Pretty Woman" and "Princess Diaries" director Garry Marshall gives us the chance to gaze at A-listers who only had to work for a few days because these ensembles are so massive. (Marshall's first two holiday confections were 2010's "Valentine's Day" and 2011's "New Year's Eve.")  Sporting patriotic T-shirts and a bucket of fried chicken, Flo and her husband (Robert Pine) load up their RV and travel from Texas to Atlanta to visit their two children (Kate Hudson an ...

'Thor' Premature Casting Call: Who Could Play Enchantress?
MTV News - over 3 years
By Alex Zalben Though fandom doesn't quite seem to be suffering from Loki fatigue as of yet, Marvel Studios is taking a step back. The Prince of Lies won't appear in "Avengers: Age of Spader," according to writer/director Joss Whedon. And given his prominence in "Thor: The Dark World," chances are Loki won't necessarily be front and center in a possible "Thor 3." If that happens though, Tom Hiddleston has a plan: get him a girlfriend. In the comics, Enchantress has sometimes filled that role. She's an Asgardian sorceress who, you know, allies with Loki because they both wear green. So with that in mind, who could play Amora in the not-yet-greenlit "Thor 3"? True, this is territory we've walked before, but the Marvel Universe has come a long way since 2012. Hit the jump for our ideas, our really, really good ideas. Britt Robertson The actress is one of the bright spots in CBS' "Under The Dome," playing an increasingly commanding leader of the show's trapped community. She'll ...

WATCH: Big Jim Lays Down The Law
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Big Jim Rennie (Dean Norris) probably isn't going to win any father of the year awards on "Under the Dome," but watching his dysfunctional relationship with troubled son Junior (Alexander Koch) has been one of the most compelling aspects of the CBS series so far. In the August 5 episode, "Imperfect Circles," Big Jim says and does what we've all been wanting to do and puts Junior in his place after the teenager's disturbing treatment of Angie (Britt Robertson) -- but will it teach Junior a lesson, or just worsen his behavior? Outside the Rennie family, huge developments occur in other areas of the "Dome," according to executive producer Neal Baer, who told HuffPost TV that the episode has key moments that will leave fans buzzing. "Not only does it grab your heart, but it sets up the path for the future of the show, in a way," Baer said in an interview. "It's a huge turning point for the show, because our kids, who've had the 'pink stars are falling' seizures -- some ...

What's Causing The Seizures On 'Under The Dome'?
Huffington Post - over 3 years
CBS' "Under the Dome" has already provided viewers with a number of mysteries in its first two episodes, but one of the most troubling is the cause of the violent seizures that affected both Chester's Mill resident Joe McAlister (Colin Ford) and out-of-town wild child Norrie Calvert-Hill (Mackenzie Lintz). The Huffington Post caught up with Ford and Lintz on the North Carolina set of CBS' summer series during the filming of Episode 4 to find out what the young stars could reveal about their characters' burgeoning relationship and their mutual affliction. Light spoilers ahead. Colin Ford Give us a little insight into your character, Joe, because he seems fairly similar to his counterpart in the novel. Why 'Revenge' Is Superior To 'Mad Men'
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
"Under the Dome" author Stephen King is gearing up for the launch of the CBS small screen-adaptation of his science fiction novel, which is set to premiere on Monday, June 24. The "Under The Dome" TV series, which stars Dean Norris ("Breaking Bad"), Mike Vogel ("The Help"), Rachelle Lefevre ("Twilight"), Colin Ford ("Supernatural"), Jeff Fahey ("Lost"), Britt Robertson ("The Secret Circle") and more, follows the panic and chaos that grips the inhabitants of Chester's Mill after a giant, impenetrable dome inexplicably traps the town. "People's eyes are going to bug out of their head when they see it," King said of the show's visual effects in an early "Under the Dome" trailer. "It's going to be riveting TV." But the legendary horror and suspense writer is far from new to the medium of television: He's appeared in "The Shining" miniseries, "The Simpsons," "Kingdom Hospital" (which he also produced) and "Sons of Anarchy," while Syfy's "Haven" is based on King's novella, ...
