Falcons shake up defense after Super Bowl collapse
Yahoo News - 18 days
The Atlanta Falcons have confirmed a clear-out of the team's defensive coaching staff in the wake of the franchise's historic Super Bowl collapse, it was reported Wednesday. Defensive co-ordinator Richard Smith and line coach Bryan Cox have both been sacked following Sunday's epic defeat to the New England Patriots, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The paper said the team denied that the shake-up was linked to the disastrous second-half performance in the Super Bowl, when the Falcons leaked 31 unanswered points as the Patriots secured a dramatic victory.

Don't Say Michael Jackson. "Don't Say You Love Me" is B. Howard's Hit
Huffington Post - about 1 year
It says enough that Beverly Hills pop artist Brandon "B." Howard has just released a single that's in the top 20 on Billboard magazine's dance song chart. But his history with the legendary Jackson family is too intriguing to leave it there. A speaking voice genuinely like Michael's invokes an eerie specter when trying to extract basic information, like how old he is. His whispery answer: "Timeless." So, looking for clues.... On December 13, the day after his release party for "Don't Say You Love Me" (DSYLM) at Berlin's hot Felix ClubRestaurant, B. Howard was agog over the presence of Hollywood types at his celebration. "It was freaking awesome. People from James Bond were there and all," he shared breathlessly. "I had a rocking release party last night." Along with his uncorrupted face and pubescent tenor, that kind of zeal over starry peripherals would put him at around 19. But it turns out he's been working as a record producer since 2003. A teenager he is not. More import ...

Ryaheen Banismuslem fell to death from fourth floor of flats, court told
Guardian (UK) - about 3 years
Toddler fell through gap in glass barrier after maintenance worker Robert Warner failed to replace it, jury hears A mother broke down in court as she recalled the moment she realised her two-year-old daughter had plunged to her death from the fourth floor of a block of flats. Ola Al Fatle told Sheffield crown court on Tuesday how she searched for Ryaheen Banismuslem when she realised she had strayed away from a balcony garden area where she had been playing with her brother. Fatle said other residents of the North Bank flats, in Sheffield city centre, called her over and she saw her daughter had fallen. She was giving evidence on the first day of the trial of maintenance worker Robert Warner, 45. Prosecutors have told the jury that Ryaheen fell through a gap in the glass barrier because Warner had removed a panel and failed to replace it. Fatle cried and paused to compose herself a number of times as she described what happened on 27 June 2012, with the help of an interpreter. ...

Wednesday round-up: Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake and Clint Eastwood
ajc - almost 5 years
AP reporter Dorie Turner posted this photo of Oprah Winfrey at the CNN Center Happy dreary Wednesday. Here’s a mid-week wrap-up to get you over the hump. First, Oprah Winfrey is in town. Or she was yesterday, anyway. Both CNN Public Relations and the Associated Press’ Dorie Turner posted photos of her strolling through the CNN Center. Winfrey was here not long ago to interview Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina for her OWN channel, and OWN has been casting in Atlanta for a reality show about families with strong-willed teenagers. And, her close friend Tyler Perry just wrapped a four-day stint at the Fox Theatre, performing his latest live production, “Madea Gets a Job.” I’ll see if I can find out if O was in the audience. Mariah Carey’s here too, working with local music producers A hard day's night in the studio Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. They tweeted photos of themselves working hard in the studio. Cameras have converged upon STK, the celebrity mag ...

Browns sign celebutard Kim Kardassian to play DT
Wine & Excrement - over 5 years
CLEVELAND – In a surprise move today, the Cleveland Browns signed defensive tackle Kim Kardassian to bolster their defensive line.Kardassian, officially 28 (but probably closer to 31), did not attend college and has no professional experience – in football, at least. Browns Coach Eric Mangini couldn’t hide his excitement, saying, “Look at her!Her base is so wide that she looks deformed. She looks like she could shit out an ambulance. With that frame she should single-handedly shore up our run defense!“ “Besides,” Mangini continued with a grin, “from all the scouting reports, she’ll gladly take on the double team.” Kardassian, a celebrity only because she says so, is a bit of a surprising signing on the surface as she has no discernible talent. She became a celebrity in 2007 courtesy of a videotape where she has sex with an equally non-famous singer. In the tape, the singer “Ray J” (an R&B singer who has yet to have a hit after five albums) allegedly performed an unorthodo ...
