12 Awesome Baby Names From New Celebrity Dads
Huffington Post - 8 months
Each year Nameberry likes to give a Father’s Day salute to those proud celeb dads who’ve most recently welcomed babies -- and 2016 happened to see some exceptionally awesome names. Some of these dads are first timers, while others are continuing to grow their families. Here are our nominations for the 12 most outstanding baby names from celebrity dads who've welcomed new additions in 2016. Ashe Olsen "Late Night" host Seth Meyers honored two of the most important women in his life with his son’s name. Ashe -- right on trend with popular Asher and Ash -- is the maiden name of his wife Alexi; the middle name Olsen was the maiden name of Meyers’ maternal grandmother. They were able to keep in play two family names that might have been lost. Boomer Robert Olympic swimming champ Michael Phelps’ joy at the birth of his first son is obvious in the choice of the upbeat nickname name Boomer. Robert is a tribute to Phelps’ longtime coach, "Bob" Bowman, and also to his great-grandmo ...

Rex Reed: A career of offensiveness
Salon.com - about 4 years
Long-time film critic Rex Reed -- who incidentally acted in one of the worst films ever made, the 1970 adaptation of Gore Vidal's novel "Myra Breckinridge" -- is making headlines today for his particularly offensive review of "Identity Thief," in which he called comedian Melissa McCarthy "humongous," "tractor-sized," and a "female hippo." He continued to focus on nothing but her weight, trivializing her fame to the point of calling the "Bridesmaids" star "a gimmick comedian who has devoted her short career to being obese and obnoxious with equal success." As support for McCarthy poured in via Twitter and comments, Gawker's Rich Juzwiak called Reed's description "uncivil and the product of an intolerant mindset"; critic Christopher Campbell tweeted: "Seriously, there are too many writers losing their jobs (and those of us who can't get good ones) for Rex Reed to get away with that junk"; Chad Lowe called the comments "vile and unnacceptable," asking for the Observer to fire Reed. Jaimie Etkin: 'Pretty Little Liars' Recap: No One Should Thank Byron, Lena Dunham
Huffington Post - about 4 years
Note: Do not read on if you have not yet seen Season 3, Episode 15 of ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars," titled "Mona-Mania." Lena Dunham clearly does not watch "Pretty Little Liars" ... or at least, I hope she doesn't because -- Hilary Swank jab notwithstanding -- I would question her decision to thank Chad Lowe -- the man who plays Byron Montgomery, who may just be the most twisted resident of Rosewood -- in front of millions of people. And here's why ... This week's "Pretty Little Liars" episode opens with Aria watching a black-and-white movie -- because she would -- when Byron walks in and says, "I think I've seen this one" ... as if the 1937 thriller she's watching, "Night Must Fall," is an episode of "Law & Order: SVU." (I wish. Boy could use a visit from an elite squad of detectives known as the Special Victim's Unit.) He proceeds to apologize to dagger-eyed Aria about accusing her of setting off the explosion that burned Meredith's wrist. But Aria isn't ...

‘Pretty Little Liars’ Winter Premiere: Mona Returns With A Surprising Ally
Hollywood Life - about 4 years
The premiere of season 3B answered some of our most burning questions — and, of course, presented us with a million new ones. The second half of Pretty Little Liars‘ third season kicked off Jan. 8 — “A” be praised! — and it was just as bananas as I’d hoped it would be: Mona (Janel Parrish) returned to Rosewood high, crazier than ever; we learned the real connection between Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and Byron (Chad Lowe); and we got a pretty good idea of who tried to kill Aria (Lucy Hale). See, I told you it was bananas! Now let’s break what happened to each of our girls this week: ARIA As if Aria’s life wasn’t complicated enough, Meredith (Amanda Schull) has re-entered the frame as her new history teacher — ironic! — and it looks like all of her lessons are going to contain less-than-subtle jabs at her relationship with Aria. Honestly, who is hiring these teachers?! Later, when “A” started a fire at the fundraiser and almost killed Meredith, Aria’s dad immediately tried to plac ...

'Pretty Little Liars' Star Troain Bellisario Says Spencer Loses Everything
Huffington Post - about 4 years
Of the four "Pretty Little Liars," Spencer Hastings is as Type A as they come. Throughout the ABC Family show's two and a half seasons, the overachieving WASP has arguably been more determined than anyone to find out who's been blackmailing her and her friends, but it's the one "A" she can't get. But a lot changes when Season 3 of "Pretty Little Liars" returns on Tuesday, January 8 at 8 p.m. EST and Troian Bellisario, the actress who plays Spencer, says she's having the most fun she's ever had on the series. When Spencer finds out the truth about her boyfriend-turned-"A"-Team-member Toby (Keegan Allen), "She really has lost everything, in her eyes," Bellisario told HuffPost TV via phone. "And when somebody loses everything, they can do anything. So while she does become more and more destroyed, she also becomes almost more and more powerful." Find out what's in store for Rosewood's very own Nancy Drew, who Spencer will be sparring with, who Bellisario thinks could b ...

Dr. Jane Greer: Hilary Swank: How Long Is Too Long?
Huffington Post - over 4 years
In the land of quick marriages, Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank has taken a different tack. She was married to actor Chad Lowe for eight years and dated him for six years before that. Most recently, the actress dated John Campisi for five years. Swank recently announced that they broke up in May. The rumors suggest that John not proposing might have sparked the separation. That may or may not be the reason, but it does beg the question for anyone who has been in a long-term relationship and waiting to get engaged: How long do you wait for your partner to be ready? Which leads to the more difficult question: When is enough enough? There is no question in your mind that you are ready to commit to your partner for life. But your partner continues to drag their feet... and drag their feet. As hard as it is to accept, sometimes relationships outlast their shelf life and stop moving forward. How can you know if your relationship has reached that point and you have enter ...

Texas Needs You: Nuisance Alligator Hunting Open to All
my SA - almost 5 years
--Chad Love Have you've always dreamed of becoming an official alligator removal specialist, but never thought you'd be able to deal with all those annoying regulatory requirements? Well thanks to the unlikely combination of horny alligators and a really lousy economy, here's your chance to reach for the stars and grab that dream by its thick, scaly tail. But only if you live in Texas. From this story on kvue.com: There's a growing population of more than a half-million alligators in Texas, and they're spread out over 125 counties. The state needs help to control the surge. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department needs alligator hunters. For the first time this year, the TPWD has opened up nuisance alligator hunting to anyone.
