Linkin Park's 'In The End' Remixed With 183 Of Your Favorite Movies
Huffington Post - about 1 year
Is it just us or is this the best Linkin Park has ever sounded? Send word to your Hot-Topic-wearing-circa-2002-self because one YouTuber has spent way too much time creating a fan tribute to the rock band's song "In the End."  The Unusual Suspect, aka Ross Thompson, remixed the piano/scream heavy anthem using 183 movies, ranging from "Anchorman" and "Finding Nemo" to "Milk" and "Star Wars." Dearly departed Alan Rickman even makes an appearance in his iconic role of Professor Snape.  Instead of lead singer Chester Bennington belting out the song, characters from these classic films deliver the lyrics, but you know ... in the end it doesn't even matter. Stone Temple Pilots Take It To Court
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
LOS ANGELES -- The Stone Temple Pilots accuse former frontman Scott Weiland of misusing the band's name to further his solo career and want a judge to strip the rocker of his ability to use the group's name or songs. A lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles accuses Weiland of being chronically late to concerts while the group was together and having his lawyer attempt to interfere with the airplay of the group's new single "Out of Time." Weiland and Stone Temple Pilots parted ways in February, and the 45-year-old singer said at the time that he learned of his ouster from a statement released to the media. The lawsuit sheds light on the band's breakup, accusing Weiland of interacting with band mates only through lawyers or managers and showing up late to the group's 2012 shows. It cites Weiland's addiction struggles and poor performances as detriments to the band's earning potential. "The band endured much strife and lost significant opportunities because of Wei ...

Justin Bieber Dominates AMAs
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Justin Bieber may be Canadian, but he was the all-American boy at Sunday night's American Music Awards. The pop singer dominated the awards show, winning three trophies, including artist of the year. His mom joined him onstage as he collected the award, beating out Rihanna, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Drake. "I wanted to thank you for always believing in me," Bieber said, looking to his mom. The 18-year-old also won the honor in 2010. He said it's "hard growing up with everyone watching me" and asked that people continue to believe in him. But the teenager who brought his mom as a date also got in some grinding with Nicki Minaj – who shared the stage with him and took home two awards – and a kiss on the neck from presenter Jenny McCarthy. "Wow. I feel violated right now," he said, laughing. "I did grab his butt," McCarthy said backstage. "I couldn't help it. He was just so delicious. So little. I wanted to tear his head off and eat it." Another collabo ...

Mike Ragogna: A Conversation With Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, Plus Chatting With VideofyMe's Oskar Glauser and The Villains and Ben Arthur Exclusives
Huffington Post - over 4 years
A Conversation With Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda Mike Ragogna: Mike, production-wise, your new album LIVING THINGS was another collaboration between you and Rick Rubin, right? Mike Shinoda: Yeah, Rick and I teamed up again on this. I guess that's just a function of working with our band. I generally handle the ins and outs of production. MR: How does the interaction with Rick work? MS: Ever since we started with Rick, I've been kind of co-producing. Our working style is really different from what people would expect most bands to do. With that said, figuring out what to call what is a little tough. When people think of most bands writing a song, they think of bands getting together in a room and jamming and writing stuff together; basically writing the song and then recording the song. That's really not how we work. Ours is a really fluid process, we kind of go back and forth. From the beginning, we're writing it, we're recording it, we're mixing it, and even all th ...

Video Premiere: Linkin Park, 'Burn It Down'
MTV News - almost 5 years
Linkin Park are going upbeat with 'Burn It Down.' We're not sure when Linkin Park started listening to MGMT, but we're not gonna lie -- we're pretty into it. The band's "Burn It Down" hasn't jumped completely into hipster dance party territory, but with its sunny keyboard melody, the oft-aggro act sounds surprisingly, um, cheerful. Even when Linkin Park's hard rock side blasts in on the chorus, the track still sounds ready for dancing -- but it could probably handle a mosh pit, too. (As the owner of multiple cardigans, I'm not 100 percent sure.) If you're worried Linkin Park's lightened up too much, the video, directed by the band's own Joe Hahn, is a darker, industrial offering, with trippy sci-fi special effects and a "Matrix"-y all-black wardrobe palette. When the visuals heat up, it's as the camera pans through still images of the band actually on fire -- not exactly a relaxing trip to Malibu. But the group can't hide the good vibes entirely: Please note Chester Bennington cl ...

Bacon and Eggs Breakfast Pizza.
CNN iReport - almost 5 years
This is a Bacon and Eggs Pizza I made at my pizza shop Angelina's Restaurant in Cambridge, Vermont. I got this idea from Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. He mentioned in an interview by iReporter Chris Morrow that he would like bacon and eggs on a pizza if there was such a thing. So it gave me this great idea to make a bacon and eggs breakfast pizza. I think this pizza along with a nice fresh cup of coffee is surly an EYE opener.

Billboard Awards Add Kelly Clarkson, Usher, Linkin Park And Nelly Furtado: Let’s Play Switcheroo!
Pop Dust - almost 5 years
We’ve got four more performers May 20 on the Billboard Music Awards: Kelly Clarkson, Usher, Linkin Park and Nelly Furtado. They’ve all got a new single or singles to promote. Guess what they’ll sound like, and chances are you’ll be in right. In other words, it’s the same story as last time, with different names swapped in. So let’s switch things up once more! Suppose each of these artists did someone else’s song. A cover swap, let’s call it. This could be fantastic! Interesting, at the very least. Our four ideas, below. LINKIN PARK DOES NELLY FURTADO: “Say It Right” is a guitar, morose piano line and Mike Shinoda verse away from being a downtempo Linkin Park track. Can’t you just hear Chester Bennington wailing out “You don’t mean nothing at all to me! No, you don’t mean nothing at all to me!” We can. USHER DOES KELLY CLARKSON: “Miss Independent” would be an entirely different song from a man’s perspective. (And a different song from Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent,” for that matter.) ...

New Song: Linkin Park, 'Burn It Down'
MTV News - almost 5 years
Linkin Park light it up on their new single 'Burn It Down.' Things have been pretty quiet on the Linkin Park front since their last album, 2010's A Thousand Suns. But with the release of the band's latest single, "Burn It Down," off of the newly announced Living Things album, the two-year wait for new LP material is finally over. Bonus round: The band also announced today that they're headed out on the road later this summer with Incubus and MUTEMATH for the 2012 Honda Civic Tour. What a fun, sexy time for us, Linkin Park fans. Listen to Linkin Park's "Burn It Down" after the jump. "Burn It Down" sees Linkin Park heading in a new, electronic direction while keeping their harder, more rock-oriented roots. The result is an aggressive, midtempo jam about rebirth and renewal that the band is really excited about. Frontman Chester Bennington told MTV News, "We're kind of really comfortable with our early nü-metal days, and we're really comfortable with where we're at in our more ...

More Details Hide Details In a free society, people have a right to believe whatever they want to believe. That's their business and they can speak their mind... but nobody, even in a free society, has the right to take another person's life. Ever. That's something that we really need to move beyond." Bennington suffered a severe bite from a recluse spider while touring with the OzzFest in 2001. Bennington was plagued with poor health during the making of Meteora, and struggled to attend some of the album's recording sessions. In the summer of 2003, he began to suffer from extreme abdominal pain and gastrointestinal issues while filming the music video for "Numb" in Prague. He was forced to return to the United States for surgery, and filmed the remainder of the music video in Los Angeles. The one where Chester sings and writes is Dead by Sunrise, but when I sing, and Amir and I are the primary writers, it becomes Julien-K and it's more electro and much darker... Julien-K and Dead by Sunrise are basically a creative collective, we're sort of a Warhol-style factory in that sense... Dead by Sunrise is Chester's Julien-K if that makes any sense." More Details Hide Details But that song is about taking responsibility for your actions. I don't say 'you' at any point. It's about how I'm the reason that I feel this way. There's something inside me that pulls me down." Bennington primarily serves as Linkin Park's lead vocalist, but occasionally shares the role with Shinoda. All Music Guide described Bennington's vocals as "higher-pitched" and "emotional", in contrast to Shinoda's hip-hop-style delivery. Bennington quit his day job at a digital services firm and took his family to California, where he had a successful audition with Linkin Park, who were then called Xero.
