Glee Series Finale at Paleyfest
CNN - almost 2 years
Unlike the other Paleyfest events we attended it had more of a somber overhang. Everyone knew this was the last time they would see a Glee panel as the Glee Series Finale was coming up. There was much interest in the finale of which they couldn’t talk much to you about. We saw the first hour of the finale, most of it being from the very first episode of Glee with an insert of Darren Criss (Blaine) who later has a relationship with Chris Colfer (Kurt) During the Q&A fans thanked Glee for opening their eyes to various lifestyles as their young children were brought up watching the show with them. As it was pointed out, there are two sad parts of the show Glee ending, the first that it ended and the second that it jumped the shark some time ago. Glee tours and bringing Glee to Broadway brought many claps and screams from the audience. Darren Criss wrote a song for Lea Michelle (Rachel) to sing. She broke down and cried. He had put into words what they felt about the show. Ac ...

Yahoo News - about 3 years
It doesn't take a superhero to come to the aid of a young person in crisis mode. That's the goal of the Trevor Project, which dedicates itself to crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Questioning) youths. Adam Lambert, Darren Criss, Blake Jenner, and Chris Colfer were among the celebrities performing at this annual event. In 2013, the Trevor Project, Campus Pride, and Kognito Interactive teamed up to launch three interactive, online training simulations that help educators and students gain the skills and knowledge needed to help at-risk young people.

‘Glee’ Goes Back In Time For ‘Previously Unaired Christmas’
Hollywood Life - about 3 years
This is not something we’ve ever seen ‘Glee’ do before — not that we’re complaining. When the episode began with Sue sharing that last year’s Christmas episode was never aired, so they were showing it now — what did you think of the season four episode smack in the middle of season five? While Dec. 5 is a little early for a Christmas special, it was the perfect time for Glee to celebrate airing a never-before-season episode from season four. While the New Directions worked hard to reacreate the nativity scene, Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Santana (Naya Rivera) got jobs at a local mall . . . as elves. ‘Glee’ Returns To Season 4 For Christmas Special Yes, it was just as weird as it sounds. Last year during Glee‘s holiday special, Kurt and Rachel were already in NYC, but she ended up heading on a cruise with her father. However on the flashback episode, she turned down the invite for the cruise to stay with Take Our Poll (function(d,c,j){if(!d.getElementBy ...

Why Glee Is the Best Show for Teenagers
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Glee has been my favorite television show since I discovered it two years ago. The wide range of music they cover has fueled my inner theatre nerd -- and, the creepy guy who accompanies the club has inspired me to be a better pop culture pianist. Now, don't get me wrong, I've heard all the "Glee is a terrible show" retorts from some of my friends. "It's unrealistic!" "They ruin my favorite songs!" and, "Why are there so many gay people?" I genuinely believe that two of those retorts are good observations (however, I don't think Lea Michele or any of the Glee cast could ruin a song if they tried). I actually think that these statements are what makes Glee such a great show for teenagers to watch. Here are a few reasons why I love Glee and why I think you could love it, too -- if you don't already. 1. Glee is so clearly not realistic, not true, and not possible. It's literally perfect. Teenagers are simply too easily swayed. Our emotions and hormones are crazy, and we're clearly a few hu ...

Stop saying it’s easy to come out!
Salon.com - over 3 years
In 2012, popular media venues such as the New York Times, Huffington Post, and Entertainment Weekly all suggested in feature articles that being gay is not a big deal anymore. The articles argued this was so manifestly true that gay celebrities no longer even needed to come out. As opposed to past years, when celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres came out with a big splash, Anderson Cooper was praised for doing so in a new, more casual way. Similarly, other celebrities, including Wanda Sykes, Chris Colfer, Zachary Quinto, and Frank Ocean, have not turned coming out into a major PR campaign. These celebrities want to be out without having to come out. That’s the new normal. But does that mean that it is easier to come out today than ever before? Mainstream media continually interpret the rise of out LGB public figures to mean that coming out and being LGB is no big deal. The message is that lesbian, gay, and bisexual lives finally fit in with a mainstream, majority culture, and that stra ...

What an experience! We cried so much last night, and for so many different reasons! And while we won't see his tribute episode until Episode 3, the writers were able to give a tasteful nod to our beloved Finn last night. Blaine (Darren Criss) set up a surprise proposal performance for Kurt (Chris Colfer) with All You Need Is Love. And while the show was something Baz Luhrmann would approve of, the actual proposal was just so beyond anything we've ever seen before. Engagement 101 in this episode!! Will Lea Michele's Rachel Land Her 'Funny Girl' Dream Role In 'Glee' Season 5? (PHOTO)
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Last season of "Glee" ended with Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) attending a callback audition for the role of Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of "Funny Girl," but viewers were left wondering whether the NYADA starlet actually got the gig. While the show will undoubtedly answer that lingering question when it returns for Season 5, Michele and creator Ryan Murphy may have offered us a hint by way of a photo Murphy tweeted on location in New York: Michele is certainly looking comfortable and color-coordinated with the fictional show's marquee in the photo, and Rachel has proven her "Funny Girl" fandom numerous times over the course of the series, having nailed "Don't Rain on My Parade" with great aplomb in Season 2. And, in a case of life imitating art, Broadway producer Bob Boyett named Michele as one of his top picks for the proposed real-life revival of "Funny Girl" back in 2010, although the project has since stalled (Lauren Ambrose was set to star). "I think Lea is wonderful, she ...

WATCH: Chris Colfer On Mourning Cory Monteith: 'A Line Needs To Be Drawn'
Huffington Post - over 3 years
The unexpected death of "Glee" star Cory Monteith drew a cascade of support from the show's passionate fan base, who offered thoughts and prayers for Monteith's family, friends and co-stars who are grieving for their loss. There's also high interest in how Monteith is being mourned by his celebrity friends. "Glee" star Nolan Gerard Funk and actress Sophia Bush both shared their experiences with HuffPost Live last week. But Chris Colfer, one of the most famous faces on "Glee," told HuffPost Live's Caitlyn Becker that while he appreciates the public's support, he prefers to grieve privately. "It's difficult because it's hard to mourn someone, but it's another thing to mourn someone with the world," Colfer said. "I think a line needs to be drawn, because it's really unnerving to get messages from people, from 12-year-olds in Nebraska telling you how to mourn and telling you how to pay your respects." Colfer said Monteith's death has been hard on everyone who works on "Gl ...
