Patty Andrews, the last surviving member of the singing group The Andrews Sisters died Wednesday at 94. The lead singer of the group entertained U.S. service personnel overseas during World War II, passed away at her home in Northridge, California. She announced the war's end in 1945 to troops at a concert in Italy. Their close harmony style influenced dozens of subsequent groups and singers, from the McGuire Sisters and the Pointer Sisters to En Vogue, Bette Midler and Christina Aguilera.
