Singer Christina Perri, Dinah Shore Weekend Headliner, Reflects on 'Whirlwind' Career
Huffington Post - almost 2 years
Most performers can't pin-point exactly when their lives changed, but Christina Perri remembers the moment clearly. The star, who headlines the upcoming 25th-Annual Dinah Shore Weekend, says her "Cinderella" story began at 8pm, June 30, 2010 -- when breakthrough hit "Jar of Hearts" aired on TV's So You Think You Can Dance. "I was very much a normal girl with a Facebook," shared Perri during a recent telephone interview promoting new single "The Words" and her 2015 Dinah performance, "I remember my Facebook blowing up and thinking 'What's happening?' By midnight, I was the No. 1 most-Googled thing in the world." Perri's demo version of "Jar of Hearts" immediately sold 220,000 copies. A literal overnight sensation, the unsigned artist went from working as a Los Angeles waitress to making national television appearances within a week. Her first three performances ever were for The CBS Morning Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and a live return to SYTYCD. Three weeks later, she si ...

'Once Upon A Time': Hook And Emma Share A Passionate Kiss (VIDEO)
Huffington Post - over 3 years
As we learned more about his past via flashback, "Once Upon a Time" proved Captain Hook wasn't and isn't always the scoundrel we assume him to be. This week, he lured Charming to a magical spring to heal him. He even warned Charming that drinking the spring water would mean he could never leave Neverland, leaving the ultimate decision to Charming. Perhaps this act of unexpected kindness is why 'shippers got their first glimpse at a Hook-Emma relationship when the two locked lips in a kiss so passionate Hook seemed genuinely taken aback for a moment. She called the kiss "a one-time thing," but does anyone really believe that? Hollywood Life's Andy Swift didn't buy it for a second. "It was probably the most intense kiss we’ve seen on the show so far, which is saying a lot since 'Once' is literally based on ‘true love’s kiss,'" he wrote. But according to Colin O'Donoghue aka Hook himself, it could be a while before things progress. He told Zap2It, "At the moment, everybody's so focused ...

Read on for Goodwin's thoughts on Snow and Regina's tumultuous relationship, her attempts to mend her relationship with daughter Emma, and whether she'll find herself tempted by her darker side in Neverland. 'Once Upon A Time' Could Go Gay
Huffington Post - over 3 years
"Once Upon a Time" Season 3 will see some of fans' favorite fairytale characters venturing to the dangerous world of Neverland in search of kidnapped Henry (Jared Gilmore), and creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis were on hand at the recent ATX Television Festival to preview a little about what we can expect when "Once" returns in the fall. On the "Once Upon a Time" panel at the ATX Festival this past weekend, Horowitz and Kitsis discussed how the show's core characters will relate to each other while trapped in close quarters on The Jolly Roger; whether Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) will romance Emma; what's in store for Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin); and much more. On how Season 3 will begin: Horowitz: It's pretty much a direct pickup ... What you saw at the end of the finale is a jumping off point: Some characters are on the boat, some characters are in Storybrooke. 'His Feelings For Emma Have Always Been There'
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
In HuffPost TV's recent conversation with creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, we learned that the two-part "Once Upon a Time" finale (airing May 5 and May 12 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC) will give us "more background" on the enigmatic Neal/Bae (Michael Raymond-James), Rumplestiltskin's (Robert Carlyle) long-lost son and Henry's (Jared Gilmore) father. With titles like "Second Star to the Right" and"And Straight on 'Til Morning," it should come as no surprise that we're going to meet some familiar characters from a particularly beloved story, as well as explore the tumultuous history between Neal and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue). In preparation for the finale, The Huffington Post spoke to Raymond-James about what the finale has in store for Neal's relationships with his father, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and the untrustworthy Tamara (Sonequa Martin-Green), and much more. In the first 10 minutes of "Second Star to the Right," we see that Neal doesn't hesitate to lay a guilt trip ...

What To Expect From The 'Once' Finale
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
Only one episode remains before the "Once Upon a Time" Season 2 finale, and creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz teased what to expect from the final two hours of the season on Monday morning. The co-creators screened the first two acts of the penultimate episode, "Second Star to the Right," for a small group of reporters and answered some burning questions as well. Here's what The Huffington Post learned during our conversation with Kitsis and Horowitz. Warning: Light spoilers ahead! New Faces and Old Friends As the first 10 minutes of "Second Star to the Right" can attest, the final two episodes of Season 2 will feature a number of characters from "Peter Pan," including Wendy Darling. And since Bae/Neal (Michael Raymond-James) has a heretofore unexplained tie to Neverland that somehow relates to Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), the "Once Upon A Time" season finale will apparently be "very Hook centric" in terms of its flashbacks, while also giving Bae "more background ...

Can Regina Really Change? 'Once Upon A Time' Cast Previews Midseason Premiere
Huffington Post - about 4 years
"Once Upon a Time" returns with its midseason premiere on Sunday (Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC), and now that Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) have escaped the Enchanted Forest and reunited with their loved ones in Storybrooke, it's time for a whole new set of problems to arise. Chief among them is the arrival of Cora (Barbara Hershey) and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) to our world, since the two fairytale foes have nothing but revenge on their minds. During HuffPost TV's recent visit to "Once Upon A Time's" Vancouver set, the cast gave us a few hints as to what was coming up in the second half of the season, including the midseason premiere, in which Regina is suspected of murdering one of Storybrooke's most beloved inhabitants. As we saw in the midseason finale, Regina (Lana Parrilla) had a surprising change of heart, choosing to save Emma and Snow instead of allowing the portal to kill them both. It seems as though we'll see our former Evil Queen s ...

Laura Prudom: A Curse, A Reunion And A Trap In 'Once Upon A Time'
Huffington Post - about 4 years
Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 2, Episode 8 of ABC's "Once Upon a Time," titled "Into the Deep." After the decidedly filler-y "Child of the Moon," it was good to see "Once Upon a Time" getting back to the meat of the mythology with the action-packed "Into the Deep." Although some of the exposition felt belabored -- especially the narrative hoops that the writers seemingly needed to jump through to justify Snow being able to get back to the Netherworld -- overall, the hour was gripping and the reunion between Snow and Charming felt perfectly played. var src_url="http://pshared.5min.com/Scripts/PlayerSeed.js?playList=517547858&height=411&width=570&sid=577&origin=undefined&relatedMode=2&relatedBottomHeight=60&companionPos=&hasCompanion=false&autoStart=false&colorPallet=%23FFEB00&videoControlDisplayColor=%23191919&shuffle=0&continuous=true"; src_url += "&onVideoDataLoaded=HPTrack.Vid.DL&onT ...

‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: Hook Sets Sail & Rumpelstiltskin Kills Again
Hollywood Life - over 4 years
Plus, two sinister characters join forces -- and they're headed for Storybrooke! A miracle occurred on the Oct. 21 episode of Once Upon A Time: We only had to wrap our heads around two timelines! Well, at least until the very end. The hour was mostly split between present-day Storybrooke, where Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) nearly lost the woman of his dreams; and the past Enchanted Forest, where he did lose the woman of his dreams. Anyone else noticing a trend here? Let's start in the Enchanted Forest: Apparently, Rumpelstiltskin's love life has always been an ugly tragedy with bad teeth. He learned that his first wife, Mila, was in the custody of that sexy mofo Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) — who nearly broke Twitter tonight, thanks to his emphatic legion of "Hookers" — but when he went to confront the swashbuckler, he was told she had died. Lies! She didn't die. She just ran away to be with Captain Hook because he had a sweet boat and ladies love pirates. And as total ...

Meet Captain Hook In New 'Once Upon A Time' Previews
Huffington Post - over 4 years
This Sunday's episode of "Once Upon a Time" (Sun., Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC) will introduce us to another legendary character from the Disney pantheon: Captain Hook. But this iteration of the classic J. M. Barrie character seems less cowardly crocodile-hater (although the episode is called "The Crocodile") and more Captain Jack Sparrow, thanks to the casting of dashing Colin O'Donoghue. And, as you might notice in the preview clips below, he's also missing the very appendage that gives him that memorable name -- which may explain why Hook is going by Killian Jones when we first meet him. Seems like we've got ourselves a good ol' fashioned origin story, In the first clip, we see Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) having a small domestic dispute with his wife Milah (Rachel Shelley) over her unsavory choice of drinking company, and get our first glimpse of O'Donoghue's charming Captain. Obviously, said confrontation doesn't go so well, since we next see Rumple payi ...

Once Upon a Time LOVES Colin O’Donoghue’s Captain Hook
Boom Tron - over 4 years
Seems like we were just talk about Captain Hook debuting on ABC’s Once Upon a Time. Oh yeah, we were, and even before fans of the ABC fantasy/drama see the pirate captain in an actual episode - Colin O’Donoghue will debut as the character in an episode title “The Crocodile” – the character initially tabbed to recur on Once Upon a Time has been bumped to a regular. O’Donoghue must have made an impression, and according to EW that’s exactly what the Irish actor did, making Once Upon a Time bosses Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz move to lock up his services for their second season. The show, as do most, does this often when they see something they like, with both Emile de Ravin and Meghan Ory getting the similar treatment from their work as Belle and Ruby last year. As noted above, Hook will debut in “The Crocodile”, the 4th episode of the season set to air on ABC on October 21st. That confirms what I said earlier when we got a teaser last week that featured both Hook and Lancelot, i. ...

Jamie Chung Geared Up for Hook in Once Upon a Time season 2
Boom Tron - over 4 years
Once Upon a Time  fans aren’t the only ones gearing up for season 2! I hadn’t seen this image before and when I caught it accompanying a piece at TVguide I wanted to share it. It’s kind of a tiny look, but Jamie Chung looks battle ready here in her Mulan armor! As we told you last month, Jamie Chung is set to portray the legendary Chinese character (and subject of the fine Disney film from the 1990s) and it looks like she means business. It’s not just for show either, Chung tells TVguide she has the goods if Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) gets out of line, while they journey to find Sarah Bolger’s Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora) with Julian Morris’ Prince Phillip. Chung is familiar with action, having starred in Sucker Punch and Samurai Girl. Chung and that trio join a host of new characters coming to life next season on Once Upon a Time, along with  Sinqua Walls as Lancelot) and Michael Raymond-James (possibly Baelfire?). Once Upon a Time returns for its second season next ...
