5 Killed, 21 Wounded In Shootings Overnight Thursday

Five people were killed and at least 21 wounded in shootings in Chicago in the midst of the mid-week Fourth of July holiday Wednesday into early Thursday.
Robert Snipes, 31, was shot multiple times while arguing with another man in the 1700 block of North Pulaski Road around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. He died after being taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Antonio D. Givan, 35, was shot in the head during an attempted hold-up around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of East 68th Street, according to the Chicago Tribune. Around the same time, another man -- Corey Parker, 27, was found dead from gunshot wounds in the 1500 block of West 78th Street.
Two other men were fatally shot early Thursday.
Among non-fatal shootings reported in Chicago overnight, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the right calf and thigh in what police say was a gang-related attack in the 3800 block of South Wolcott Avenue. The boy was reported in good condition
