NYC Festival Reveals Global Realities of Women and Fashion in Films
Huffington Post - about 1 year
(The Women & Fashion Film Festival features life changing panels, screenings and Q&A's with iconic figures in fashion and film including Patricia Field, Pat Cleveland, Jeremy Scott + more!) Honoring today's wave of female empowerment, ambition and leadership, The Women & Fashion Film Festival(WFF) marches in with an international agenda that hits close to home. At a time when women are appearing -- for the first time -- as front-runners for a seat in the White House, assuming roles like CEOs and founders, all while still overcoming numerous personal challenges, the WFF marks an excellent time to highlight the impact that women and fashion have on society. With all lives indescribably shaped by the impact that women have on us, and with fashion playing one of the utmost noticeable ways that we express our values, culture and influence, films of the subject matter take a top seat to society. Remarkably, WFF aims to shine a light on women leaders in fashion, entertain ...

Huffington Post - over 1 year
Just in time for the holiday party season, The Salonniere, the award-winning site dedicated exclusively to the art of party hosting, has released The Salonniere 100, a list of the 100 best party hosts in the United States. These are the fête-fabulous men and women who bend over backwards to entertain with such flair that their party invitations are the most coveted in the country. To compile the list, the editors at The Salonniere asked more than 1,000 in-the-know influencers - including society reporters and other members of the media, social figures, philanthropists, dignitaries, and arts, business and non-profit leaders - across all 50 states for a confidential list of the most skilled and gracious party hosts in their city. Those nominated most frequently were reviewed by an independent group of social authorities in the cities represented and members of The Salonniere's editorial team. Among the well-known party givers on the list are Lela Rose, Mariska Hargitay and De ...

PETA Reveals How Beyonce Can Make Amends For Animal Rights
Huffington Post - about 4 years
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was none too pleased when Beyonce took to the stage during the halftime show of Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday dressed in a black leather costume made from animal hide. After chastising the singer's choice, the animal rights organization has revealed that there is a way she can make amends. On Tuesday, PETA slammed Beyonce for her Super Bowl costume choice -- a black leather ensemble designed by Rubin Singer and constructed with strips of iguana, python and cowhide. PETA released a statement to HuffPost Style saying that the "Love On Top" singer "missed the mark" with her non-vegan outfit. In an email correspondence with HuffPost Green on Wednesday, PETA Media Officer Wendy Wegner said, "Beyonce is immensely talented and beautiful, but sometimes she forgets that her actions can upset or influence her countless fans; and that, with the choice of one outfit, she has the opportunity to help animals and set a good example." ...

Liz Smith: The Sky Is NOT Falling! New James Bond Film Set to Break Box Office Records!
Huffington Post - over 4 years
"YOU CAN take Hollywood for granted like I did, or you can dismiss it with the contempt we reserve for what we don't understand. It can be understood too, but only dimly, in flashes. Not half a dozen men have ever been able to keep the whole equation of pictures in their heads," wrote F. Scott Fitzgerald in The Last Tycoon. SPEAKING OF Hollywood, what is being understood right now -- and not at all dimly -- is the expected gargantuan box office of the new James Bond movie, Skyfall. Overseas it has already taken in just under $300 million dollars. Sometimes the foreign take is misleading, but Sony feels Skyfall will not fall in the U.S., as it has already out-grossed the two previous Daniel Craig 007 epics -- Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Skyfall opens on Friday. After Hurricane Sandy and the elections, we all need some good healthy sex, violence, speeding cars, snappy tuxes and dangerous women. AND SPEAKING of F. Scott Fitzgerald, the other night on TC ...

The Guests are from real patrician stock, unlike the Vanderbilts and Rockefellers, who are descended from crooks."
