Ice Age Mammoth Bones Discovered on Michigan Farm
Yahoo News - over 1 year
Two Michigan farmers made an unexpected discovery in a wheat field last week: the ice-age bones of a mammoth that was likely slaughtered by ancient humans. An excavation and analysis of the bones suggest they come from an adult male mammoth that had an unlucky end. "We think that humans were here and may have butchered and stashed the meat [in a pond] so that they could come back later for it," Daniel Fisher, a University of Michigan paleontologist who led the excavation, said in a statement.

'Girl Meets World' Season Expanded To 21 Episodes
Huffington Post - about 3 years
In a very encouraging sign for all the fans waiting anxiously for the premiere of "Girl Meets World" on Disney Channel, the network has already ordered an additional eight episodes, bringing its Season 1 total to 21 episodes. Considering the "Boy Meets World" sequel series hasn't even premiered yet, that's pretty encouraging. In fact, all we know so far is that it's coming sometime in 2014. Danielle Fishel, who's reprising her "Boy Meets World" role alongside Ben Savage, broke the news via Twitter. "Can't wait for everyone to see them all," she wrote. This may be the first Disney Channel original series that has as many parents excited about it as it does kids. In the sequel series, Cory and Topanga are married and their daughter takes over the central narrative. But that won't stop millions of "BMW" fans from tuning in. After all, many of those original "BMW" fans -- it aired from 1993 to 2000 on ABC -- are parents themselves now. They'll be able to relate to their favorite couple a ...

Danielle Fishel On Topanga, Linda Cardellini And Growing Up Onscreen
Huffington Post - over 3 years
When "Boy Meets World" hit ABC in 1993, Danielle Fishel became Topanga Lawrence to the world. From that moment on, she was forever linked to her onscreen high school sweetheart Cory Matthews (Ben Savage), and 20 years later everyone still calls her "Topanga." In honor of the DVD release of "Boy Meets World: The Complete Collection" and the premiere of "Girl Meets World" (premiering on the Disney Channel in 2014), Fishel opened up to The Huffington Post about what to expect from "Girl Meets World," being Topanga, her relationship with her co-stars and more. What was it like growing up onscreen? Wonderful! I don’t have any complaints. Even during the years when I was awkward-looking or overweight, it didn’t really worry me that millions of people were watching me go through it. I get my self-worth from within, not external validation, so I just look at all those years as scripted home movies. You've said you're really enjoying working with Ben Savage again. Danielle Fishel AKA Topanga Rocks A Bikini On Her Honeymoon In Hawaii
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Just days after taking down body bullies who dared to criticize her weight, actress Danielle Fishel looks more than confident rocking a bikini. Of course, those online bullies seemed to be the furthest thing from the former "Boy Meets World" star's mind as photographers snapped photos of the actress and new husband Tim Belusko while on their honeymoon in Hawaii on Saturday. The 32-year-old, who is about to reprise her role as Topanga Lawrence on Disney's "Girl Meets World," married her boyfriend of nearly five years on Oct. 19, and though it was a joyous occasion for the couple, it prompted online haters to spew their venom, making comments about Fishel's weight and criticizing her for marrying someone so young. Fishel wouldn't hear any of it and hit back on Twitter, telling naysayers that her new husband is "mature, responsible, loving, & kind." And as for the comments about her weight, Fishel very poignantly had this to say: Ppl saying I was FAT @ my wedding: u r the ...
