The star was forced to deny rumours suggesting she had parted from the sportsman last year (11), but the gossip emerged again on Tuesday (03Apr12) - and the couple, who share toddler son Ethan, has now revealed the sad news is true. In a series of posts on Twitter.com, Minogue writes, "It brings me great sadness to tell you that Kris & I have separated. We still care for each other & ask for privacy at this difficult time, in particular for our son Ethan who remains our number one priority. "Needing to retreat for a while. Thank you for your ever loving continued support." Smith adds, "Dannii and I have a deep mutual love and respect for each other and although things have not worked out we have a gorgeous son together that we both love and implore everyone to respect our privacy at this challenging time." The couple began dating in the summer of 2008 after meeting at Smith's 30th birthday party in Ibiza. Their son was born in July, 2010.
