Ruthie Camden Is All Grown Up
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Mackenzie Rosman is best known for her role on "7th Heaven" as the adorable, curly-cued, originally youngest Camden child, Ruthie. But five years after the long-running WB series about a Protestant minister's family came to an end, the actress is proving she's all grown up. Now 23-year-old Rosman, who starred on "7th Heaven" for 11 seasons (appearing in all but five of the show's 243 episodes), stripped down for Maxim's September 2013 issue to promote her new Syfy movie "Ghost Shark" (premieres August 22) and to look back on her formative years. Rosman was just seven years old when she started her stint on "7th Heaven," but once the show ended, her image changed, thanks to a leaked photo of her in lingerie and another of her kissing another woman. The ABC Family series was also helm ...

Burning Airbus makes emergency landing at Heathrow
Guardian (UK) - almost 4 years
Airport temporarily closed and hundreds of flights cancelled after BA flight to Oslo is forced to land by technical fault A British Airways plane trailing smoke made an emergency landing on Friday morning at Heathrow, leading to a temporary shutdown of the airport and the cancellation of hundreds of flights. The flight, heading to Oslo from Heathrow, returned to the London airport shortly after taking off at 8.16am because of what BA called a technical fault but what was described by witnesses as an engine on fire. Emergency services met the plane on the runway and 75 passengers and crew were safely evacuated on emergency slides. Three people were treated for minor injuries, the London ambulance service said. The London fire brigade said a fire on the aircraft was put out. BA is to investigate the incident in conjunction with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch. BA cancelled all its short-haul flights in and out of Heathrow until 4pm on Friday to avert widespread backlogs and ...

If These 5 People Who Tried Windows 8 Are Normal, Microsoft Has A Big Problem On Its Hands
Business Insider - over 4 years
Microsoft is launching its new operating system, Windows 8, this week. Windows 8 is a radical departure for anyone who has used Windows in the past two decades. The new interface is designed primarily for touch-screens. And based on some anecdotal responses from those who have tried it--professional reviewers and normal people alike--it's not exactly love at first sight. SAI's Matt Rosoff reviewed a preview version of Windows 8 a couple of months ago. He found it "needlessly confusing and hard to use." The AP said the new OS interface "baffles" consumers. The New York Times's David Gallagher invited 5 people to try Windows 8 and filmed them while they did so. One of the five people seemed to like the look of the design ("Awesome," "This is so cool,"). But figuring out how to actually go about doing things seemed to confuse the hell out of everyone--including the person who liked the design. The video is embedded below. Here are some of the quotes: "I don't like this d ...
