Neil Patrick Harris' Twins Are Too Darn Cute
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Neil Patrick Harris, can we babysit your kids? The actor and his partner David Burtka stepped out for the premiere of "Smurfs 2" in Los Angeles yesterday (July 28) with their adorable twins, Harper and Gideon. The 2-year-olds giggled as they posed on the red carpet, flashing their best smiles for the camera to celebrate their dad's new animated flick. Harper wore a mini sequined dress and sandals while her brother sported shorts, a white-collared shirt and bow tie. "The older they get, the more I love being a dad," Harris told People magazine recently of his kids, who turn 3 in October. "Now that they're talking, I'm really loving the camp counselor end of parenting. I'm all about reasoning. If they fall and are okay but crying, David will be the hugger, and I'll be the 'Show me where it hurts; let's talk about it' one. I come from a family of lawyers, so explanation is crucial." Well, that makes us want to be a part of this family even more. Check out Neil, David ...

The left and right of happiness
Left Foot Forward - almost 5 years
. In 2010 David Cameron reaffirmed his commitment to measuring levels of happiness. “There’s more to life than money,” he argued. The pledge was first made in opposition, during the times of plenty. Ostensibly, the implementation now of happiness measures seems foolish; given the stream of statistical bad news on the economy, it would be implausible for the government to claim any kind of policy success based on happiness statistics alone. And yet the commitment survives. The Office for National Statistics included four questions on ‘ subjective wellbeing’ in the Annual Population Survey for the first time in April 2011. Is the government making a rod for its own back? If happiness goes up they won’t be able to claim the credit, and if happiness goes down their performance on the economy - the very thing Cameron wants us to stop obsessing over - will get the blame. Alas, there are a few more sides to this story: Cameron’s support for measuring happiness, alongside GDP ...
