Why Stephen King is My Favorite Undead Author
Huffington Post - about 1 year
Last night, as I crawled into bed with a cup of tea and The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, the latest tome from my #onetruelove Stephen King, I had not only a wonderful sense of anticipation, but also of serenity. There are very few things in this world you can count on, but for me, Stephen King is near top of the list; certainly he ranks above death and taxes. I have often described the experience of reading his books thusly: it is like going on the perfect vacation with the perfect companion; someone who understands my every mood and craving and is always entirely in sync with what I want to do, where I want to go and when I want to do all of these things. TOP THAT, Donna Tartt! As I was reading his introduction, I found myself daydreaming about our past history and the many good times we have shared together. This walk down memory lane prompted me to recall our auspicious introduction: Thanksgiving weekend, 1979. Visiting my grandparents for the holiday, the adults safely ensconced in the din ...

Top Gear Thursday: ‘Stunt School Revolution’ Game App Debuts on iOS
BBC Blogs- America - over 4 years
Back to school. Top Gear: Stunt School Revolution, the new version of the show’s mobile game app, is now available for iOS (Mac) devices. (Don’t worry, Androiders, yours will be available soon.) Among the new driving locations are New York City, the Grand Canyon and Alcatraz. And perhaps best of all, Stunt School Revolution is FREE! That’s right, freakin’ free. Just go to iTunes to download it. And take a look at it right here: • As promised, Top Gear Live took Durban by storm last weekend. The event broke a new record. TopGear.com reported that the South African venue saw the first ever double loop-the-loop in a car. “It was quite remarkable,” said Jeremy Clarkson. “As anyone who has seen Top Gear either live or on TV will know, we are much more famous for mucking about and breaking other things like caravans – certainly not for breaking world records! I’m just glad no one asked me to do it.” You can take a look at a photo gallery from Durban here, but here’s an image we ...

Delays ahead
The Courier - almost 5 years
ADDITIONAL sewer replacement works will cause months of disruption for people living in the north of Leamington and in Cubbington this summer. Severn Trent has this week announced plans to spend £850,000 to prevent flooding in Parklands Avenue and its surrounding area including Epsom Road, Meadow Close and Oakridge Road. The worst period will start in late July, when a section of Cubbington Road will be shut for ten weeks, putting added strain on the already busy main roads coming in and out of north Leamington. The work, which is separate to that which is taking place in Leamington town centre, will start on Tuesday and is scheduled to be completed by the end of September. Severn Trent has said the work will be completed by its contractor NMCNomenca as quickly and as safely as possible but Cubbington parish councillor David Saul fears the closure will affect trade for shops and businesses on the Rugby Road and cause “chaos” on other roads connected to the village. Cllr Saul sai ...
