Why Miley Cyrus Is the Future of Pop Music
Huffington Post - over 3 years
If I were Rihanna, I'd be very worried right now. While Riri has been busy posting explicit selfies and going back and forth to violent ex Chris Brown, another Queen of Shock has come up and bit her on her Bajan behind. Step forward, Miley Cyrus. As if writhing around half naked with married musician Robin Thicke wasn't wild enough at the MTV VMAs, the teeny bopper has only gone and outdone herself, lighting up what can only be described as a 'suspicious looking cigarette' in Snoop Dogg's favourite weed smoking stomping ground, Amsterdam. Funny that she chose the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday night, to light up a 'joint', on stage while a latex-clad female dwarf spanked her. She knew millions of viewers would be watching at home, shocked at what had become of the fallen Hannah Montana star. However, behind closed doors, it was actually a savvy move from the former girlie girl turned wild child. Her don't-give-a-damn attitude is a carbon copy of Rihanna's style. And l ...

Kay Burley: Dance Like No-One Is Watching
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
I have always wanted to take part in Strictly Come Dancing. But, despite years of stalking BBC TV Centre with my nose pressed up against the window, my attempts have so far been without success. Instead I have had to console myself with Saturday night sofa voting for former colleagues Kate Garraway; Dan Lobb; Andrew Castle; Russell Grant - the list goes on and on. So imagine my delight when I was asked to take part in a charity version of the dance competition. Finally I would be able to show off the steps I'd learned while being whisked around the Blackpool Tower Ballroom by my daddy when I was eight! Sadly, the years have taken their toll and despite my best efforts rather than rivalling Denise Van Outen, I'd be lucky to challenge the dance moves of the wonderful Ann Widdecombe. Worse still, the other contestants include our very own Charlotte Hawkins, Sky Sports presenters Natalie Sawyer; Vicky Gomersall and Orla Chennaoui. Then there are the athletes competing includ ...

Virgin Atlantic tip-off allegations put workings of media back in spotlight
Guardian (UK) - almost 5 years
Leveson inquiry urged to examine secret trade in private information that fuels the paparazzi They are the secret tip-offs at the heart of the paparazzi. Far from the heavily trailed showbiz parties and red-carpet events, the lifeline of most celebrity snappers is a confidential network of sources privy to the movements of the latest tabloid fodder. From its alleged secret source inside Virgin Atlantic, the London-based paparazzi agency Big Pictures was apparently treated to the planned travel movements of everyone from British royalty to global pop stars including Madonna, Rihanna and Debbie Harry. In a string of informal emails sent last year, and seen by the Guardian, Big Pictures appears to have been supplied with information about the precise Virgin Atlantic flight details of around 70 top celebrities.
