Pompeii: Romance, Adventure, Natural Disaster
Huffington Post - about 3 years
Director Paul W.S. Anderson and Producer Jeremy Bolt deliver a stunning 3D production in their latest movie entitled Pompeii. This is an epic movie that has everything: Visually breathtaking, a touching love story, adrenalizing gladiator combat with historical details that are unmatched. Anderson's outstanding recreation of one of the ancient world's most compelling tragedies. On August 24, 79 AD the city of Pompeii, an exquisite international resort on Italy's Bay of Naples, was buried by the colossal eruption of Mount Vesuvius and its deadly and inescapable pyroclastic flow. Within 24 hours this city and its inhabitants were annihilated in one of the most ferocious natural disasters in history. "This is not a documentary, but it is firmly grounded in reality while also being exciting, exhilarating and highly emotional," said Producer Jeremy Bolt. Travel review: St Ives, Cornwall
Yorkshire Evening Post - over 3 years
I’m not entirely sure how I’m meant to feel about my husband sketching the curved lines of a naked 20-something female. He’s getting back in touch with his creative side again (no wonder!) and a trip to the Cornish town of St Ives seemed like the perfect place to pop along to a life drawing class. After all, almost everyone’s a creative type down here. In fact, painters have been coming to Newlyn and its famous School of Art since the late 19th Century and their historical exploits are the subject of British film Summer In February starring Emily Browning and Dan Stevens. Inspired, we decide to enrol in a class at the school. We’re joined by a mish-mash of local artists, give-it-a-go sorts and everything in between. There’s even someone very closely resembling The Fast Show’s Johnny Nice Painter. He’s ever so fond of the colour black... But as the tutor Maggie paces around the room, offering words of encouragement, it’s clear the idea is not to think too much. We use paint, charcoa ...

Sebastian Silva, Chilean Director, Discusses His FIlms Starring Michael Cera
Huffington Post - about 4 years
In "Magic Magic," which premiered at Sundance as part of the Midnight section, a fun-loving holiday goes horribly awry. But it isn't so much a horror film as an exploration of insanity, selfishness and emotional brutality that leaves audiences weirded out. Filmmaker Sebastian Silva was in Sundance with two films, both starring Michael Cera, and Silva picked up a directing prize for his "Crystal Fairy" in the International Dramatic competition. His film "The Maid" had previously won the International Dramatic Grand Jury prize. As "Magic Magic" begins, Sarah (Emily Browning), studying abroad in Chile, is joined by her cousin Alicia (Juno Temple) for a weekend getaway with friends, including a diplomat's eccentric son known as Brink (Michael Cera). As their journey goes on, Alicia starts acting stranger and stranger, until it seems she is having some sort of full-blown mental collapse. Talk about a bad trip.

Cam Gigandet Joins Catherine Hardwicke's New Thriller
MTV News - over 4 years
Aww, look! It's a teeny-tiny "Twilight" reunion on Catherine Hardwicke's new thriller-in-production, "Plush." Variety is reporting that Cam Gigandet, who played a villainous vampire in the very first "Twilight" film, is officially on board for the male lead in this new supernatural suspense movie. Cam will play opposite Emily Browning, portraying a psychic psychologist who sees into his patients' pasts in order to help them heal. (So, in other words, he's probably the only psychologist in the world who neither needs nor wants you to tell him more about How That Makes You Feel, right? You could just lie on the couch and let him dig around in your head! And even take a nap, probably!) No word on whether Cam went through the normal audition process for his upcoming role or whether Catherine saw something in his performance as sadistic tracker James to make him a likely candidate, but it's exciting to see the two flicks-in-Forks alums back in business together! And since this story ...

Emily Browning of 'Sucker Punch' — Crush of the Day [PICTURES]
ESPN 1420 am - about 5 years
Warner Bros. The movie ‘Sucker Punch’ made the list of the 15 biggest box office flops for 2011 on the Hollywood Reporter website. It wasn’t for lack of eye candy. The star of the flick, Emily Browning, was a heck of a lot of fun to look at dressed like a school girl while kicking butt. Emily is our crush today for looking good during an otherwise awful movie. It must be incredibly depressing to be an actor or actress in a box office flop. Especially when he or she knows it’s going to be a dud during filming. It must make it really hard to show up for first call in the morning. Unless you’re an actor opposite a hot actress. If we were in ‘Sucker Punch’ we’d show up extra early every day just to check out Emily in those thigh high stockings. Emily’s follow-up to ‘Sucker Punch’ was ‘Sleeping Beauty’ about “Lucy, a young university student drawn into a mysterious hidden world of unspoken desires.” Emily gets semi-naked in the ...
