Ruben Studdard Talks 112 Pound Weight Loss, 'American Idol' Fame
Huffington Post - about 3 years
Ten years after becoming the winner of “American Idol’s” second season, Ruben Studdard has released his 6th studio album this month entitled, “Unconditional Love." The 11-track opus finds the Birmingham, Alabama native collaborating with the likes of Eric Benét, Lalah Hathaway, and world renown producer-musician, David Foster. And though the 35-year-old crooner is celebrating his ten year “American Idol” anniversary in May, he has no qualms about the show being referenced as his claim to fame. “For a boy from Alabama who had no idea of how to enter the music industry after getting no responses to the demos I was sending in, it was a great blessing,” he said during a recent interview with Billboard. “It's a six-month music industry crash course. But what you learn quickly after leaving the show is that the industry is and isn't ‘American Idol.’ A.I. is a huge pop show, but the urban market is completely different. Still, the show was first class from the time I stepped off the pla ...

Halle Berry Is Married!
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Congrats go out to Mrs. Martinez! Halle Berry married her fiance Olivier Martinez on Saturday (July 13) at Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France, Us Weekly confirms. According to reports, the ceremony took place in a small chateau, where, in accordance with French law, a civil union was held at 4 p.m., followed by a religious ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at the chapel in the village. "White marquees were put up, and everyone was very discreet because it was a show business wedding," a local tells Us Weekly of the nuptials. "But generally it was pretty down-to-earth." People reports that 60 guests, mostly close friends, were in attendance including Martinez's mother Rosemarie and brother Vincent. Dinner was held under an arbor, and there was a fireworks display. This is the third marriage for Berry, who was previously wed to baseball player David Justice (from 1993 to 1997) and to R&B singer Eric Benet (from 2001 to 2005). She started dating Canadian model, Gabriel A ...

Dr. Sam Von Reiche: What Makes Us Love Celebrity Gossip
Huffington Post - about 4 years
OK, so I admit it. I read US Weekly and People -- and not just when I'm waiting in the checkout line. Halle Berry and her latest relationship drama were among the latest to draw my attention; someone is clearly lying about who started the brawl, and personally I think Gabriel Aubry was the victim there. In fact, it appeared to be a fight between his pretty face and Olivier Martinez's fist. In case you haven't seen the pictures of Aubry's bruises, the fist clearly won. Along with millions of my fellow celebrity gossip mongers, I have been transfixed as Berry has moved from one dysfunctional romance to the next for over a decade. Presumably, these poor choices have something to do with her absent and abusive father Jerome, from whom Berry was estranged all of her adult life. First, major leaguer husband David Justice was rumored to have physicaly abused Berry. Next, she was married to musician Eric Benét who cheated on her dozens of times, owing to what appeared to be sex ...

Mariah Carey Arrives Late To Accept Prestigious Award
Huffington Post - over 4 years
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Mariah Carey was late to the BMI Urban Music Awards, where she was the guest of honor, but that didn't stop other artists from literally singing her praises. Fantasia Barrino and Eric Benet were among those who serenaded the star with her own hits. Benet performed "One Sweet Day" and the former "American Idol" sang "Hero" during the private ceremony at the Saban Theatre, where writers, producers and publishers of the year's top urban hits were recognized Friday. Barrino stepped off stage and stood right in front of Carey in the audience's front row as she wailed the final words of the song. When she finished, they embraced. BMI chief Del Bryant presented Carey with the music-rights organization's Icon Award for her outstanding songwriting that has resulted in 18 No. 1 singles and more than 200 million albums sold. Bryant called her "an unparalleled musical superstar" and "the greatest singer in history." He also endorsed her new p ...
