'Suits' Star Rick Hoffman On Louis Litt Not Being The Villain, Getting His Due, Being Allergic To Cats And More
Huffington Post - over 3 years
The "Suits" Season 3 midseason finale is next week, and they're going full-steam ahead, but there are still so many loose ends to tie up at the law firm before "Suits" returns in 2014. In this week's episode, titled "Bad Faith" (Tues., Sept. 10 at 10 p.m. ET on USA), Louis Litt is finally getting his due -- or is he? -- as boss lady Jessica asks Louis to be her "Cooler King", and it is nothing short of Litt-tastic. But as the partners of Pearson Darby Specter move forward with the dissolution, there are also love interests complicating things: Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and his old flame Scottie (Abigail Spencer); Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Rachel (Meghan Markle); and, of course, Louis (Rick Hoffman) and his beloved Mikado the cat. I caught up with Hoffman to talk about Mikado -- did you know he's deathly allergic to cats? -- and the impending return of his human love interest Sheils Sazs (Rachael Harris), and he also teased another shot at a Louis-Harvey friendship (or broship, as ...

'Suits' Scoop On What Jessica And Harvey Did, Plus Thoughts On A Snazzy, Smart Cable Drama
Huffington Post - over 3 years
I have specific information at the end of this post about the most recent episode of "Suits" -- including thoughts from series creator Aaron Korsh about a questionable thing two lead characters did -- but first, a generality: "Suits" is delightful. This law drama is not perfect (and my exchange with Korsh revolves about one aspect of last week's episode that didn't quite work for me). But I hasten to add that whatever flaws the show has are minor, and my opinion isn't too far off from that of critic Matt Zoller Seitz, who recently wrote that it "might be the most purely entertaining series on television." (By the way, if you plan to catch up on "Suits" -- which I recommend -- you can read everything before the Korsh portion of this post without being spoiled on Season 1, 2 or 3 plot developments.) Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) and Nigel Nesbitt (Adam Godley) have been frenemies all through Season 3 of "Suits." Pleasure, remember that? Can you recall when pleasure was a regular par ...

Suits Postmortem: What's Next for Harvey and Donna?
Seattle Pi - over 3 years
Suits shed a whole lot of light on Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Donna's (Sarah Rafferty) relationship on Tuesday's flashback episode - not to mention sent Harvey and Donna 'shippers into a tizzy. Hot scoop on your favorite returning shows "I think we all knew on some level that [something happened between them]," Rafferty tells TVGuide.com. [In Season 2,] Donna agrees to come back to work after she was fired and she does make a reference to 'that other time,' so I had a lot of ideas in my head about what their past was. "In my mind, they hadn't slept together, but fooled around and stopped in the middle for whatever reason - I hadn't thought it through then," he says. The flashback, of course, ties in to the duo's present-day story line and office romance woes. In the episode's closing minutes, Harvey finally admits that he's bothered by it. Adds Korsh: They have rules about not mixing work with their personal lives, but they have to grab their opportunities for happiness when t ...

The British are still coming! HuffPost TV has an exclusive sneak peek, above, at this week's new episode, titled "Unfinished Business," which finds Harvey Specter's (Gabriel Macht) British counterpart flirting with Donna. And we all know how Harvey feels about other people flirting with Donna. "He has some interactions with Donna, and they might have some flirtation, which might lead to some feelings on Harvey's behalf," creator and executive producer Aaron Korsh told THR.com earlier this month. Watch above to see just how much of a threat he poses -- and if Donna gets seduced by his charms or holds her own. "Suits" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on USA.

Adams visited HuffPost Live on Tuesday, where talk soon turned to the fan-favorite relationship between Mike and Rachel. 'Suits' Star Admits To 'Fangirling' Over Michelle Fairley
Huffington Post - over 3 years
It's nice to know that actors aren't any more immune to the addictive power of "Game of Thrones" than the rest of us. "Suits" star Patrick J. Adams recently admitted that he wasted no time "fangirling" over dearly-departed "GOT" star Michelle Fairley while she was on set filming a guest role on the USA legal drama. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Adams admitted that he wasn't aware that the bloody Red Wedding was ahead when Fairley arrived to shoot her scenes, but it didn't take him long to realize that something ominous was on the cards for her character, Catelyn Stark. “I did not know what was going to happen to her, but I had suspected [something] because in my fangirling, it was like trying to make conversation -- ‘When are you going back to work? When are you gonna do that?’ And she was just like… ‘Ah. Well. We’ll go back …’ You could see her kind of stumbling over it and then I saw it in her eye and I just was like, ‘Stop. No more. I know,’" Adams recounte ...

Suits Grants Rescue Me Alum Some Family Ties
Boom Tron - over 3 years
USA’s Suits is defining some family ties in season 3. The legal drama starring Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht as Mike Ross and Harvey Specter is planning to reveal Harvey’s dad. Yep, you heard me. Who is coming on board to play him? Rescue Me actor James McCaffrey has that honor. Just don’t confuse the actor for White Collar‘s Neal Caffrey acted by Matt Bomer. Season 3 of Suits will premier on the USA network on July 16. I haven’t heard concrete details yet on whether McCaffrey’s role as Harvey’s dad Gordon Specter is a guest arc or perhaps recurring for the new season. TV Line had the skinny on McCaffrey’s first episode, which is scheduled to air on August 20. It seems that Harvey’s dad pops up in a flashback. Harvey is going to be needing advice from daddy dearest as he faces the choice to stay at the DA’s office or return to work for Jessica. Something Gordon has said will play a role in Harvey’s decision. McCaffrey’s credits include ABC Family’s Beautiful People and Rev ...

Michelle Fairley's First Post-'Thrones' Gig
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Michelle Fairley is heading to "Suits." The former "Game of Thrones" actress, whose character Catelyn Stark was killed off in the June 2 episode in one of the most devastating and violent scenes in recent TV history, will recur on the USA series, the network has confirmed to The Huffington Post. Fairley will join Season 3 of "Suits" as Ava Hessington, a British entrepreneur who runs a successful international oil company. Faced with a lawsuit that may cost her the family business, she puts her trust in Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) to fight the charges against her. Fairley will make her debut on "Suits" in the Season 3 premiere this July. The actress recently spoke to The Huffington Post about her "Game of Thrones" departure and filming the shocking Red Wedding. "You know this is a point where you’re possibly saying goodbye to people that you’ve come to know incredibly well and care about and love," she said. "It’s a very emotional thing to be involved in." Jeryl Brunner: The Stars of the Hit TV Series Suits Talk About Suiting (and Dressing) Up
Huffington Post - over 4 years
In the USA Network series Suits, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) is a superstar litigator at a piping hot New York law firm with a sleek and precise wardrobe to match. Looking for a new recruit, the cunning attorney ends up hiring Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). Ross is an out-of-the-box genius and college-dropout whose prior gig was taking LSAT (or law school entrance exams) for students. The charismatic dude even passed the New York bar exam on a dare.  As Mark Twain said, "Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society." And in the world of Suits, these super sharp power duds seem to define each stylish character. "The suits are like suits of armor," explains Adams. "It's crazy. I get to work in my shorts and flip flops. But when you put that suit on, your posture changes. You stand straighter. You present something different." So it was fitting that just last month, USA Network and the spiffy men's retailer MrPorter.com, joined forces to pre ...

“Suits” – Meet the New Boss episode review
Blast Magazine - over 4 years
When Daniel Hardman returns to the firm, he and Harvey Specter clash in a big way 4.5 out of 5 stars He’s baaaaack. Cue the Darth Vader theme music because Daniel Hardman is back at Pearson Hardman, much to the displeasure of Harvey and the gang.  In their first case together, Daniel and Harvey are at one another’s throats as they battle a union of striking nurses as well as each other.  ”Meet the New Boss” functions mostly as a demonstration of how disruptive Hardman’s return will be, but in between the Harvey/Hardman battle scenes there are a number of exceptional scenes for the rest of the ensemble as well. “Meet the New Boss” opens with Mike returning to his apartment to find the door ajar, as if somebody had broken in.  Cautiously entering, he warns the intruder that, “I am armed… with a big gun.”  The trespasser turns out to be his own grandmother, who reminds him that today is a special day.  Mike forgot about the plans to commemorate the date with his grandmother (pos ...

Q&A With Gabriel Macht of “Suits”
Blast Magazine - over 4 years
Gabriel Macht stars in “Suits” Thursday nights at 9pm on USA Network A while ago there was a short article in “Entertainment Weekly,” in which the editors asked somebody important at USA Network what their advice was on how to make a successful show.  One of the things that they recommended was trying to make stars rather than hire them.  The USA rep used examples like Tony Shalloub in “Monk” and Jeffrey Donovan in “Burn Notice,” explaining that before landing leading roles on their respective shows, these two actors were just the right part away from making it big.  Now that “Monk” is off the air and “Burn Notice” is entering it’s sixth season, USA has found a new actor to make into a star with the hit show, “Suits.” Like Shalloub and Donovan before him, Gabriel Macht already had the skills of a great actor before “Suits” came along—he just lacked the notoriety of one.  If somebody did recognize Macht, it was either for his leading role in “The Spirit” or as “that guy” in a ha ...
