‘Lying Game’ Season Premiere Recap: Rebecca & Sutton Plot Their Revenge
Hollywood Life - about 4 years
Plus, a mysterious stranger arrives in town — and, of course, he has ties to Rebecca. TV’s most complicated show — seriously, The Lying Game is like Lost meets Homeland meets a brain hemorrhage — returned for its second season Jan. 8, and it’s now more twisted than ever. With Alec (Adrian Pasdar) still in jail, Rebecca (Charisma Carpenter) spent the hour scheming with Sutton (Alexandra Chando) to win back the loves of their lives, while taking down their enemies in the process. Sutton, of course, has her sights set on the grade-A man meat known as Ethan Whitehorse (Blair Redford). She tried faking an ankle sprain to get closer to him, and when that didn’t work, she resorted to plan B: honesty! She confessed that she’s still in love with him, and that she knows deep down — like, way deep down — he still loves her, too. Naturally, he rejected her, as he’s only got eyes for her twin sister Emma. Still following me? Well, it turns out Sutton may have an easier time than she thinks ...

Xaque Gruber: Three New and Noteworthy Indie Music Releases
Huffington Post - over 4 years
From ambient electronica to acoustic blues to jazzy pop, this month finds exciting new releases from three very soulful, do-it-yourself, L.A.-based music men. SHYBOY "Bird in Flight" (single) First up is Shyboy's stunning debut single release, "Bird in Flight." A quietly building, gently swinging, electro-dreampop soundscape. If this is the appetizer for the forthcoming 2013 album, Water On Mars, consider our musical appetites fully whetted. Shyboy's previous decade was spent fronting the brooding rock ensemble, Hypnogaja, whose last album was about the end of the world. By contrast, "Bird in Flight," true to its name, soars with hope and light. Shyboy adds, "it's partly a metaphor for going solo." Shyboy comments on his influences. Fleetwood Mac, Prince, Massive Attack -- I listen to everything. One fan said I sounded like a cross between Morrissey and Frank Sinatra. My co-producer, Mark Donikian, steered the music in the vein of late '70s/early '80s po ...

One World Link: Blogging from Bo
The Courier - almost 5 years
TEENAGERS from around Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth have travelled to Sierra Leone as part of Warwick district’s friendship link with the town of Bo. In the first of a series of dispatches written by the young people, Aylesford School Mairi Enticott and Helena Slater give their impressions of the days since they touched down in the west African country. “NOTHING could have prepared us for the welcome we have received in Sierra Leone. Within minutes of getting off the plane, we began to get a real feel for Africa. Unlike London where the tubes and businesses are put to sleep, Freetown is the city that really never sleeps. Of course, the first thing we noticed was the intense heat. While we thought that the sunny March in England was sweltering, we now know it’s nothing compared to the heat we are experiencing here. It is constantly 38C. Although we’re still getting used to sleeping in the intense humidity, nothing is stopping us from fully appreciating this utterly amazing cou ...
