Hollywood Speaks Out Against Indiana's Anti-LGBT Law
Huffington Post - almost 2 years
A chorus of voices from Hollywood has denounced Indiana’s newly passed anti-LGBT law, which would make businesses and individuals immune from lawsuits so long as they are motivated by religious belief. Spurred by the recent raft of lawsuits against wedding vendors who have refused services to gay couples, the law is written so broadly that critics warn it would sanction business owners to refuse service to LGBT people and racial minorities. The growing list of celebrities who’ve spoken out against the law includes Ashton Kutcher, Dustin Lance Black, Miley Cyrus, and Andy Cohen. Cyrus had particularly strong words for Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R): You're an asshole @govpenceIN ✌️-1 cc: the only place that has more idiots that Instagram is in politics @braisoncwukong thank you for standing up for what is right! Labor Day Takes Place in a Fantasy World
Huffington Post - about 3 years
Movie Review Jackie K Cooper Labor Day (Paramount Pictures) Jason Reitman is the director of such hit movies as Up In the Air, Juno and Thank You For Smoking so he obviously knows his way around a good film. So what can account for his lapses concerning his new film Labor Day? This disjointed love story is flawed from the start and Reitman never regains control of the story. Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet make a brave effort to get something good on the screen but the irrational script, based on Joyce Maynard's novel, defeats them at every turn. The film loses its audience right at the start. This is when divorcee Adele (Winslet) takes her young son Henry (Gattlin Griffith) to the grocery store. This is a big thing as Adele is a bit of a recluse and going anywhere takes a great deal of willpower on her part. Thirteen year old Henry takes good care of her but she still has moments of nervousness that almost ove ...

Melissa Joan Hart Disses And Dishes On Famous Dudes She's Kissed
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Melissa Joan Hart's tell-all book "Melissa Explains It All" is the gift that keeps on giving. By reading the 37-year-old's memoir we've already learned that the former teen star's past was not as squeaky clean as we remembered it to be, nor was she particularly fond of her feline co-star on her hit show "Sabrina The Teenage Witch." But photo shoots on ecstasy aren't quite as surprising as Hart's willingness to kiss (and diss) and tell. Perhaps Hart has a solid relationship with co-star Joey Lawrence, who she currently stars opposite on the ABC Family sitcom, "Melissa & Joey," because she doesn't exactly have kind things to say about kissing him in her book: “Joey Lawrence uses enough lip balm for both of us, creating such a thick barrier that there’s hardly any skin-on-skin contact. It’s hard to get turned on when it feels like you’re kissing one of Madam Tussaud’s wax statues.” The former Nickelodeon star did, however, have much better things to say about her 1996 "Sabr ...
