Maureen Elinzano: Songs Crush: April
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
Hello, April! Spring is here! It's almost summer too! Once again, I've been listening to old and new music like crazy this month, which is like the story of my life every month. This month, I've been going back to my roots and listening to a lot of songs that a girly girl like me would listen to, as well as new singles which have been topping the music charts. Whether you're in a rut or not, I hope that my playlist for April will make you get up and dance like there's no tomorrow. Like for reals. So without further ado, here's my playlist for April and my favorite lyrics from each song. Dancing is mandatory. 1. "Sweet Talk" -- Kito & Reija Lee Thank you, random 15 second Victoria's Secret commercial for introducing me to this dubstep song by two really cool looking London-based DJs from Australia who I'd love to hang out with someday in the future (my brother lives in London, so this could totes happen). Nicole Scherzinger: I Sang "95 Percent" of Pussycat Dolls Songs "On My Own"
US Magazine - over 4 years
Nicole Scherzinger wasn't just the leader of the Pusssycat Dolls -- she was the Pussycat Dolls. In Scherzinger's upcoming VH1 Behind the Music special, the 34-year-old says fellow "Dolls" Melody Thornton, 28, Ashley Roberts, 31, Kimberly Wyatt, 30, Jessica Sutta, 30, and Carmit Bachar, 38, were given undue credit during the group's heyday. PHOTOS: Best girl groups of all time "I love those girls. They're like my sisters. But people don't even know the whole story," Scherzinger says of her career with the multiplatinum girl group. "They have no idea. I was in the center because I was singing." The group was formed in 2003 following the success of the burlesque troupe of the same name. After a series of lineup changes, the band released their first single, "Don't Cha," in April 2005. Scherzinger estimates she "probably did 95 percent" of the singing "on my own" for the band's debut album, PCD. Executive producer Ron Fair stands by the former X Factor judge, saying, "Mel ...

Who Paid For Being 'Too Cool For School' On 'Next Top Model'?
Huffington Post - almost 5 years
There's something very sexy about a woman who's confident, sure of who she is and willing to stand her ground. Former Pussycat Doll and Jessica Sutta and Nadine Coyle of Girls Aloud joined the judging panel this week on "America's Next Top Model" (Wed., 9 p.m. ET on The CW), overseeing as the girls were put to the task of appearing in a girl group inspired music video. For choreography, Tyra Banks brought some equipment in to teach the girls how to booty tooch. She compared it to a training bra, only for the tooch. But while all the girls went and put theirs on, AzMarie didn't. When pushed on the issue, she said she quite simply refused to put it on, and so she was banished from the training session. On the US team, Kyle was a bit self-conscious, which hurt their performance, but so did AzMarie's defiance at the training session. After the US team lost the challenge, it came down to these two women. "I thought you were going to be a finalist," Tyra said after eliminat ...
