Jayne Dawson: Fresh-faced Kimberley could educate Yorkshire’s teens
Yorkshire Evening Post - over 3 years
Just look at this picture of Kimberley Walsh. Isn’t she gorgeous? All pouty and dewy skinned and fresh-faced and young looking. You may or may not have noticed but she is going commando, so to speak. Okay it’s not her underwear, but to see Kimberley without cosmetic enhancement is just as headline-grabbing. Kimberley is revealing her real, bare, as-God-intended face, devoid of makeup, and she is one of a group of female celebrities who are doing the same thing to help raise cash for Children in Need. Standing blusher-free beside her in the campaign are choreographer Arlene Phillips, presenter Alex Jones, actress Sheridan Smith and former rock ‘n’ roll chick Jo Wood. The idea is that these leading ladies, by revealing the face that only their bathroom mirror normally sees, will encourage the rest of us to do the same on Nov 8, in return for promises of cash from friends and family, in recognition of our bravery. And Kimberley does Yorkshire proud in these pictures. The Bradford g ...

The Hidden Place This Rocker's Face Was Tattooed On His Ex's Body
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Jo Wood has been divorced from The Rolling Stones' guitarist Ronnie Wood since 2011, but she has just now removed his visage from her body -- her butt, more specifically. “I stood there one day, looked at it, and thought, ‘It’s time for that to come off. I can’t have my ex-husband on my bum when he’s married,’” she recently told The Mirror. Her ex tied the knot with his third wife, 35-year-old Sally Humphreys, in December 2012. Although Jo and Ronnie's 24-year marriage ended after the guitarist reportedly ran away with an 18-year-old cocktail waitress in 2008, Jo said his bandmate Keith Richards still hoped the two would reunite. “Recently Keith did say to me that he thought Ronnie was crazy to let me go," she told The Mirror. "But what’s done is done. I wouldn’t have been able to live with him again and to trust him. I can’t recover from something like that.” It's not the first time she's spoken out about their ill-fated marriage; she released a book in May 20 ...

She also confessed that she wouldn't go see the band in concert today. "I don't think I'd go and see a show again because I've been there, I've done that and I've seen thousands of shows and I've seen them at their best," she said. "I think for me to go and see a show now wouldn't be the same." Watch the video above for more on their rock 'n roll marriage, then click through the slideshow below for other rocker splits. Man charged in 1977 cold case murder of girlfriend's son
Fox News - almost 4 years
An Indianapolis man has been arrested and charged with murder in the beating death of his girlfriend's 18-month-old son 36 years ago. Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said 57-year-old Michael V. Ackerman was arrested late Wednesday in connection with the Jan. 17, 1977, death of William T. (Billy) Wood, whom Ackerman was babysitting at the time of the child's death. Ackerman was being held Thursday in the Marion County Jail, where records did not indicate whether he had an attorney. The boy's cause of death was listed at the time of an autopsy as multiple injuries/undetermined, even though an autopsy report identified the injuries as a fractured skull and numerous internal injuries. The police cold case squad reopened the case in February, when the victim's older sister, Indy Jo Wood, came forward and told authorities she was in the apartment when her mother's then-boyfriend allegedly killed her brother, IndyStar.com re ...

Rolling Stones Guitarist Engaged
Huffington Post - over 4 years
Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is engaged! A spokesperson for Wood announced Tuesday to Reuters that the 65-year-old British rocker was engaged to 34-year-old Sally Humphreys, a theater producer. Wood and Humphreys reportedly have known each other "for years," according to Wood's stepson, Jamie. He told the Daily Mail in June 2012: "She's a lovely girl and she's no groupie -- I can assure you of that. She's a nice girl and we've known her for year. She's been a friend of dad's for a long time, but she always had a boyfriend, which I think held him back. But now the boyfriend's gone, they're free to be with each other." "She's not his type, that's the unusual thing. Sally's definitely not one of the bimbos he usually goes for," Jamie added. Wood has been part of the Rolling Stones since 1975. He has been married twice before, to model former model Krissy Findlay, from 1971 to 1978, and Jo Wood, from 1985 to 2008. He has four children.

Rolling Stones Memorabilia Auctioned After Divorce
Huffington Post - over 4 years
By Andrea Burzynski NEW YORK, Oct 28 (Reuters) - An assortment of Rolling Stones memorabilia and artwork provided by Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and his ex-wife was sold in a two-day auction, Julien's Auctions said on Sunday. The collection featured memorabilia spanning four decades from the guitarist's work with the band, and included several worn leather and velvet jackets, real and cardboard guitars, tour ephemera and a signed lithograph of Eric Clapton. Among the items were a white leather coat worn by Wood that sold for $8,960, and a lithograph of Eric Clapton drawn by Wood that features his signature as well as Clapton's that fetched $5,120. Despite being made of cardboard, a guitar cutout gifted to Wood by Keith Richards sold for $6,875. The real thing commanded almost nine times that price, with a 1955 Fender Stratocaster guitar often played on stage by Wood bringing in $60,800. ...

Beverly Hills Patch - over 4 years
Looking to score some rockstar souvenirs? Some $500,000 worth of Rolling Stones remembrances and other items collected by guitarist Ronnie Wood are set to be auctioned off in Beverly Hills on Oct. 27, according to We Got This Covered. The auction will be hosted by Darren Julien of Julien’s Auctions and is the result of Wood's divorce from his wife, Jo Wood. Some of the auction items include clothing the rocker has worn, backstage passes from Rolling Stones tours and painted guitars valued at between $4,000-$8,000, Reuters reported. "They are still very good friends and they just decided it was time to simplify and sell some of their property," Julien told Reuters. Wood and his ex-wife, Jo, have called it quits after 24 years of marriage, finalizing their divorce in 2011. The couple separated in 2008, following the musician's highly-publicized affair with cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova. However, the Rolling Stones Rembrandt said that he has no involvement in the auction, accor ...
