No Room For Friendly Fire
Huffington Post - over 1 year
I was diagnosed with HIV in late 1991. Shortly after, I joined a support group in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Damien Center. The people I met there had lost everything for disclosing their status-family, friends, jobs, housing. I felt grateful, and guilty at times, listening to others' sad stories of loss and what they were afraid of losing--because I knew that I was supported in all areas of my life. I knew then that I had an obligation to share my HIV status on as many public stages as I could. My mission was (and still is) to tell my experience in an authentic and direct way. Every time I told my story it was met with love and gratitude for my openness to share my life. Over a 14-year period, I spoke at over 2000 universities, fraternity and sorority leadership conferences, and youth groups throughout North America. More than a million young people heard my story, all in an effort to break down the stigma of HIV and help others prevent themselves from "joining the club." During ...

How Kimberly Williams-Paisley Faced Her Mother's Dementia
ABC News - about 3 years
Less than a decade ago, Kimberly Williams-Paisley had to deal with the shocking news her mother Linda had been diagnosed with a form of dementia that has no cure or treatment. Her mother was 61 at the time. "Since then, I've watched a passionately joyful woman, a devoted mother, an engaged listener and friend deteriorate and transform into someone almost unrecognizable. It's been agonizing to slowly lose her," Williams-Paisley said in an essay for Redbook titled "How I Faced My Mother's Dementia." Williams-Paisley, 42, explained the condition got so bad that her mother would order nachos at Starbucks and forget how to spell Chicago.

Mark Brennan Rosenberg: 10 Reasons to Watch Nashville
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
If you're not watching Nashville every Wednesday night on ABC, you're just plain crazy. It is, by far, the best new show of the 2012-2013 season and the critics agree. If that isn't enough, I have ten very good reasons you should be watching one of the best new dramas to debut in the past few years. 1. The Eye Candy. If you're a lady (or a gay), it doesn't matter how old you are, there is a hot guy for you to lust after at any age. Jonathon Jackson who was cute on General Hospital is all grown up and looking fine as hell. Without A Trace vet and super-hottie Eric Close co-stars as well as Charles Esten, who is apparently pushing fifty and is hotter than most 30-year-olds I've seen recently. But the breakout hottie on Nashville is by far Sam Palladio, who plays Gunner, an up-and-coming country music singer who has all of the ladies in Nashville swooning. If you're a guy and you're looking for a little eye candy, I have two words for you: Hayden Panettiere. 2. It's li ...
