Kristen Stewart Called Herself 'So Gay' On 'SNL.' Here's Why It Matters.
Huffington Post - 22 days
Last night’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” was must-see TV for a number of reasons: The Grim Reaper was tapped to play Steve Bannon, Melissa McCarthy showed up and delivered a blistering, pitch-perfect portrayal of White House press secretary Sean Spicer, and host Kristen Stewart said the F-word on live TV during her monologue. But there was another equally remarkable, though admittedly quieter, moment in the first five minutes of the show that you might have missed: Stewart, for the first time ever, publicly used the word “gay” in reference to herself (see the above video at the 2:26 mark). Stewart’s sexual identity has been the subject of rumors for years. It’s difficult to avoid speculation about your private life when you’re not just famous but also one-half of one of the most famous couples in the world, as Stewart was when she dated “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson for several years. But even after that relationship ended, Stewart was still dogged by ...

Kristen Stewart has co-authored a paper on artificial intelligence
Yahoo News - about 1 month
Here’s a sentence you don’t get to read everyday: Kristen Stewart has surprised the artificial intelligence community by publishing a paper on machine learning. The Twilight actress recently made her directorial debut with the short film Come Swim, and in it used a machine learning technique known as “style transfer” (where the aesthetics of one image or video is applied to another) to create an impressionistic visual style. Along with special effects engineer Bhautik J Joshi and producer David Shapiro, Stewart has co-authored a paper on this work in the film, publishing it in the popular online repository for non-peer reviewed work, arXiv.

What Happened To The Ingénue?
Huffington Post - about 2 months
You can be highbrow. You can be lowbrow. But can you ever just be brow? Welcome to Middlebrow, a weekly examination of pop culture. Last week, when film icon Debbie Reynolds died at 84, her New York Times obituary headline dubbed her a “Wholesome Ingénue in 1950s Films.” Quickly, lookups for the etymologically French term soared, according to Merriam- Webster. As those curious readers likely found, the Times was being slightly redundant in its description of the one-time starlet. The term “ingénue” itself ― which usually describes a wide-eyed, innocent young woman, a stage or film role depicting such a young woman, or an actress typecast as playing these roles ― denotes wholesomeness, sexual purity and naiveté, and sweetness.  When Reynolds broke into Hollywood as a teenager, she starred as girl-next-door sweethearts opposite the male matinée idols of the day in films like “Singing in the Rain” and “Bundle of Joy.” She filled a classic role at the time, guileless lead or f ...

You Should Never Wear Thumb Rings. It's A Juju Thing.
Huffington Post - 2 months
Embed from Getty Images In his book "Mystic's Musings", Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has warned women to never wear any metal rings on their thumbs as it "will lead to attracting occult forms". Sadhguru, a name which means uneducated guru, is an Enlightened Yogi, Mystic, Humanitarian, New York Times Bestselling Author, and more than likely a genius. So as much as I am a long term fan of fashion guru and thumb ring advocate, Rachel Zoe, (I love receiving her quarterly Box of Style and fashion advice via The Zoe Report) I am going to have to draw the line here. Rachel is even quoted as saying "why are you asking me if I've read a book". I've read the book, Rachel, it's now up to you to stop just accessorising with gay abandon and enlighten your fashion followers! Sadhguru and Rachel Zoe both share an affinity for snake jewelry. Spiritual seekers and Isha meditators can buy copper snake rings from Isha Shoppe USA to be worn only on the r ...

Somehow A Dancing Kristen Stewart Isn’t Painfully Awkward In New Rolling Stones Music Video
Huffington Post - 3 months
Kristen Stewart has played many roles throughout her career (mumbling Snow White, vampire-obsessed teen, panic room survivor, etc.), but her new one might be the best fit yet: A Rolling Stones music video star.  “Ride ‘Em On Down,” a cover of Eddie Taylor’s 1955 track, is the latest single off the legendary rock group’s recently released blues cover album, “Blue & Lonesome,” and features the “Twilight” star in all her glory.  The music video follows Stewart riding around solo in a vintage blue Mustang in what looks like a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. Beholden to no one ― not even some seriously creepy dude who asks her for gas ― Stewart dances and drives her way through the city and, TWIST, it’s not painfully awkward.  Also, zebras!  -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms. Helen Mirren Blesses The World With A Figure-Hugging Black Dress
Huffington Post - 4 months
Helen Mirren rocks florals with elegance, power suits like a boss and bold color with a bang. In spite of that, she’s no stranger to the fact that all-black-everything always reigns supreme.  Mirren turned heads Monday in a figure-hugging long-sleeved Victoria Beckham dress with a flared bottom. She paired the timeless look with a just-as-timeless red lip, strappy sandals and a statement necklace and clutch combo to add a little edge. The icon is one of Elle’s eight “Women in Hollywood” cover stars, and was on hand to celebrate this feat at the magazine’s corresponding awards ceremony in Beverly Hills. She was joined by fellow cover dwellers/dreamy ladies Amy Adams, Aja Naomi King, Felicity Jones, Kathy Bates, Kristen Stewart, Lupita Nyong’o and Anna Kendrick.  Can you say squad goals? -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms.
