20 Celebrities Who Always Seem To Be Single
Huffington Post - about 4 years
Ever wonder if Joseph Gordon-Levitt is dating anyone? Or how about Jessica Chastain? It appears there are a handful of celebrities who always seem to be single, despite being some of Hollywood's hottest and most famous stars. Take Charlize Theron for instance -- the Oscar-winning actress hasn't been linked to a man since ending her nine-year relationship with Stuart Townsend in 2010. (There was the Eric Stonestreet rumor, but he denied the romance). And Gordon-Levitt's love life has been a mystery! The handsome actor hasn't had a confirmed girlfriend since the late 1990s, when he was dating Larisa Oleynik -- they called it quits in 2002. Either these stars choose to be single or they're just really good at keeping their personal lives personal. Let's take a look at all of those celebrities who will most likely be dateless on Valentine's Day.

Whatever Happened To Macy Gray?
Huffington Post - about 4 years
You know those stars who blow up for all of about five minutes -- or five years, if they're lucky -- and then disappear into the ether? The ones whom you're reminded of only upon seeing a late-night commercial for "Totally R&B" or gasping with excitement as they pop up on the latest episode of "30 Rock"? The Huffington Post has been scouring the Web for juice on some of your old favorites, from pop-music princess Mandy Moore to "Cruel Intentions" heartthrob Ryan Phillippe. Find out what these and plenty of other stars are actually up to. Believe it or not, most of them are indeed working. (We didn't believe it either.) MUSIC: Ginuwine You might not be aware, but R&B slow-jam aficionado Ginuwine is still making music. He released a greatest hits album in 2006, and his most recent effort, 2011’s “Elgin,” debuted at a crisp No. 30 on the Billboard 200. Still, Ginuwine hasn’t been able to top his 2001 smash single “Differences,” which spent four weeks atop the U ...

'Alex Mack' Costume Designer Explains The Hats
Huffington Post - about 4 years
As much as "The Secret World of Alex Mack" was known for a girl with melting powers, the Nickelodeon show was also constantly associated with hats. However, as Thomas W. Lynch explained in HuffPost TV's "Alex Mack" retrospective, the hats almost didn't happen. Laura Slakey, the costume designer on "Alex Mack," revealed why she thought the hats were appropriate for the character. "I had the feeling when I read the script for the pilot that Alex felt there was nothing special about her," Slakey told HuffPost TV in an email. "She was definitely not one of the 'popular' girls. I really understood and related to the character." Slakey felt like Alex would dress differently to express her individuality and was inspired by the way her father dressed in the 1960s. "I sort of felt that Alex dressing in some of these thrift store shorts and striped shirts and hats from my childhood was a way to be different and special," Slakey said. "People sometimes wear hats to hide and/or s ...

'10 Things I Hate About You' Sequel: Why We're Whelmed
MTV News - almost 5 years
I want you. I need you. Oh baby, oh...maybe not? Dust off your Skechers and pull that Prada backpack out of the closet because Variety is reporting that "10 Things I Hate About You" director Gil Junger is at work on a sequel to his beloved 1999 comedy, with "Captain America" star Hayley Atwell attached to star. The follow-up is titled "10 Things I Hate About Life" and is described thusly by Gil (who will direct his own script): "It is the story of two relateable, ordinary people with normal jobs and normal desires whose seemingly great lives have become unmanageable. Two people who go to the same place at the same time to end it... Their chance meeting is so awkward, so raw, and so funny, they postpone their intentions and go their separate ways." On its own, the premise sounds promising—a sort of bleaker "Before Sunrise"—but billed as a follow-up to arguably one of the best teen movies ever? Let's just say we're whelmed. For one, its unclear how this film relates to its ...

'Mad Men' recap: Welcome to Fight Club!
LATimes - almost 5 years
One of my very favorite “Mad Men” episodes from last season, “The Beautiful Girls,” focused on the women of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce and their lonely personal struggles. “Signal 30,” which takes as its subject the collective identity crisis of the agency’s male population, works as a kind of companion piece to that wonderful episode: so many men, so many shades of discontent. To paraphrase Leo Tolstoy (as I am wont to do), happy men are all alike, but every unhappy man is unhappy in his own way. Let’s begin with Pete, whose transformation into the old Don Draper — with the wandering eye and suburban malaise that entails — is now more or less complete. As the episode begins, the city boy is finally learning to drive, which means he has to suffer the indignity of driver’s ed classes at a local school. Pete perhaps ought to feel emasculated by the experience, but instead he’s invigorated by the presence of Daphne, a pretty, rising Ohio State freshman. He sparks a flirtation with her ...
