C2E2
CNN - almost 2 years
The Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo keeps upping their game when it comes to big names, top notch artists and a wide variety of costumes. Saturday brought out costumers from every genre and style, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman and Futurama. Panels included "Fierce Females of TV", which included Jewel Staite (Firefly), Leah Pipes (The Originals), Neve McIntosh (Doctor Who), and Maria Doyle Kennedy (Orphan Black). Many attendees stayed in the packed main hall to see Jason Momoa (Stargate: Atlantis, Game of Thrones) who is fan favorite. Momoa was mum on any specifics on the upcoming Aquaman film but did say he was excited and it was "an honor to play the character" because of the importance of water gods in Hawaiian culture. C2E2 continues tomorrow at McCormick Place in Chicago. If you can, check it out and enjoy the show!

'The Originals' Recap: 'House Of The Rising Son'
MTV News - over 3 years
by Ryan J. Downey Man, last night sure put the "origin" in "The Originals"! Plus, two very important secrets were revealed. Now we know Marcel's backstory! Plus we learned about Klaus' master plan to take back New Orleans, even as Klaus learned about Marcel's secret weapon that gives his former protege control over the town's witches, vampires and law enforcement types. Let's begin by breaking down the episode's title, shall we? "House of the Rising Son" most likely refers to two different things. One of them involves the relationship between Klaus and "The Originals" Big Bad Marcel. It turns out Klaus wasn't just a mentor, he was a father figure! In a flashback we were introduced to Marcel as a young boy, who was saved from a cruel whipping thanks to a well placed vampiric toss of an apple that knocked a wicked slave master from his horse (and from this plane of existence). Klaus saw something of himself in the young boy: a cast aside loner who nevertheless is a survivor. ...

'I Want To Be King!'
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
The CW is just days away from airing the "Originals" pilot, but you can get a first look above. The "Vampire Diaries" spinoff -- set to air as a backdoor pilot on Thursday, April 25 at 8 p.m. ET -- sees Klaus (Joseph Morgan) head to New Orleans and connect with his protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). At the end of the most recent episode of "The Vampire Diaries," Klaus received a letter from Katherine (Nina Dobrev), which explained that there was a witch in the Big Easy plotting against him. Never one to go down without a fight, Klaus of course heads to New Orleans, as you can see in The CW preview above, set to Fall Out Boy's "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em Up)." "Welcome to the dark side of New Orleans, where the living are easily lost and the dead stick around to play," a mysterious man tells Klaus in the promo. "For once, Klaus is the one which things are happening to, as opposed to him being the cause of things. So it's really interesting ...

The law relies on precedent, and so do legal dramas. It's impossible to create a modern series about high-powered lawyers without citing Steven Bochco's ''L.A.
