Sheridan wants Featherstone Rovers to start building momentum
Yorkshire Evening Post - over 3 years
Delighted coach Ryan Sheridan wants Featherstone Rovers to build some momentum following their 60-6 win at Barrow Raiders two days ago. Rovers are involved in the Kingstone Press Championship’s only fixture this Sunday, when they play host to Workington Town in a re-arranged game. And Sheridan said: “It is a great opportunity to get into another game and keep building on our performance. We’re looking forward to it, we want to be building some momentum now.” Sheridan felt the display in Cumbria was a major step forward for his side, following the shock home defeat by Doncaster in their previous game: “It was an outstanding effort. “In the first half we were playing into a gale-force wind and it was outstanding how we approached the game. “Our halves – Liam Finn and Andy Kain – were fantastic, the two hookers – Ben Kaye and Andy Ellis – had big games, the pack was good and the outside-backs got lots of ball. “It was a good mixed bag and we did a lot of the things we’ve been workin ...

Leeds Rhinos: Bish’ is hoping for good Knight
Yorkshire Evening Post - over 4 years
Leeds Rhinos’ Ben Jones-Bishop is aiming to take his excellent end-of-season club form straight into England Knights duty. The winger finished the Super League campaign with five tries in his last six games, including a play-off hat-trick versus Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and a score in the champions’ Grand Final win. Now he looks to continue that run when he lines up against Ireland in the Alitalia European Cup fixture in Belfast – and put behind him last year’s disappointment. Jones-Bishop was in Steve McNamara’s full England squad for the Four Nations 12 months ago but was an unused member of the 24-man party. He has fallen down the pecking order since but, even after a long season at Headingley, is relishing the chance to show his credentials again. “I’m looking forward to the chance to represent England Knights and it’s something I’m keen to do,” said the 24-year-old. “I’ve been in the England squad before but just not quite got a game so I’m trying to get as many matches as ...
