PICS: 9 Soap Opera Characters Whose Style Lives On
Huffington Post - over 3 years
I'm one of the few 20-something-year-olds who gets excited whenever someone mentions soap operas. Having spent most of my childhood glued to my soaps-loving grandmother's side, I've watched enough episodes of "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful" to still know which characters are stirring up trouble today. While the overly-dramatic plots (and romantic scenes) may have been too much for a five-year-old to fully comprehend, I most certainly couldn't take my eyes off the over-the-top costumes the daytime television actresses wore. Always trendy and sometimes tacky, soap opera character style is in a category of its own. Since Hulu has resurrected two of the most beloved soap operas, "All My Children" and "One Life to Live," to much fanfare, we've decided to take a look back at soap's characters fashions over the years. Keep reading to find out what style pieces instantly come to mind when we think of Katherine Chancellor, Erica Kane and more. K ...

Two more soap stars have signed on for the Prospect Park relaunch of "One Life To Live" and "All My Children." Robin Strasser, who plays "OLTL's" Dorian Lord, took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce her involvement in the online revival. Earlier this week, "AMC's" Jordi Vilasuso did the same, expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity to bring the Castillo siblings "back to action" via the social networking site. The former "Guiding Light" vet plays Griffin Castillo, with Lindsay Hartley as his on-screen sister, Cara. As previously reported, the series are set to begin production in February after The Online Network's Prospect Park struck deals with the soap actors' union SAG-AFTRA and the Directors Guild of America to allow the shows to move online. Agnes Nixon, who created "AMC" and "OLTL" will serve as a consultant on both shows, with Jennifer Pepperman taking on executive producing duties on "One Life to Live," while Ginger Smith be EP on "All My C ...
