"Sins of Our Youth" Puts Lucas Till in the Spotlight
Huffington Post - 3 months
Movie Review - Jackie K Cooper "Sins of Our Youth" (Huffington Pictures) Now that Lucas Till is a television star thanks to his role as the new "MacGyver", some of his earlier movie roles are making the scene. "Sins of Our Youth" is such a film. In it Till plays a high school student who gets involved in the fatal shooting of a twelve year old. Till displays some charisma in the movie but his true star potential is not on display. The movie piques your interest but doesn't totally deliver on its promise of being a modern "Rebel Without A Cause." Tyler (Trill) and David (Joel Courtney) are brothers. Scott (Michael Musso) and Carlo (Bridger Zadina) are their friends. After a night of playing video games the four friends head to Tyler and David's house because their parents are away for a few days. Once there they decide to take down the reindeer display on their roof and use the "animals" for target practice. To get guns they break into their father's gun locker. ...

'Divergent' Casting News: Alex Pettyfer, Jeremy Irvine Testing For Four
MTV News - about 4 years
Back in November, four strapping lads tested for the role of love interest Four in the big-screen adaptation of Veronica Roth's "Divergent." It seems producers liked what they saw from at least one actor, as Lucas Till is reportedly returning for another round, joined by two fresh faces. Variety reports that "War Horse" star Jeremy Irvine and Alex Pettyfer (who YA-adaptation casting directors just can't seem to get enough of) will also read for the role of the Dauntless faction member. The report indicates that none of the actors are considered frontrunners at this point for the role opposite Shailene Woodley. (Though it's hard to ignore the fact that Lucas is the only one from the first round to be called back.) The best-selling YA novel, upon which the film is based, follows Beatrice "Tris" Prior (played by Shailene), whom upon her 16th birthday must decide which faction to align herself with, determining her future within the dystopian Chicago society. Earlier today we rep ...

Liam Hemsworth And Harrison Ford Face Off In 'Paranoia'
MTV News - over 4 years
Liam Hemsworth is officially in the big leagues now. The first images from his upcoming thriller "Paranoia" have hit the web, and one shows him facing off with Hollywood heavyweight Harrison Ford. While Hemsworth looks his usual charming self (albeit a bit more put together than when we last saw him in "The Expendables 2"), Ford looks pretty threatening with his bald head and accusing gaze. "Paranoia" follows Hemsworth as an entry-level employee who becomes a corporate spy. Harrison plays the mogul who Hemsworth infiltrates. No wonder there looks like there's some serious tension between the two of them in the above picture. Relativity picked up the rights to "Paranoia" from IM Global five months ago. In addition to Hemsworth and Ford, the film stars Gary Oldman, Lucas Till and Amber Heard. It's due in theaters on October 4, 2013. "Paranoia" was based on the Joseph Finder novel of the same name, and directed by "Legally Blonde's" Robert Luketic. Here's the movie's official sy ...

X-Men: First Class Sequel Begins Filming in January
Obsessed with Film - What Cultur - almost 5 years
20th Century Fox will get the ball rolling on the X-Men: First Class sequel this January. Initially the much-anticipated sequel to the 2010 reboot/prequel of Fox’s biggest superhero franchise was to shoot later this year but a conflict recently over young star Jennifer Lawrence’s (Mystique) scheduling has pushed back production a few months. Both Fox and Lionsgate wanted Lawrence in their films this fall, the latter aggressively moving forward on the next chapter in the stunningly successful Hunger Games franchise with Catching Fire, a sequel that already has a November 22nd, 2013 release date set. Whilst Fox could have initiated a sequel clause in their reportedly stronger contract with Lawrence to secure her availability for X-Men over Catching Fire and in doing so putting Lionsgate’s 2013 plans in a tailspin, The Hollywood Reporter says the studio have instead allowed Lionsgate the luxury of having Lawrence for their August/September start, with the Oscar nominated actress the ...

'X-Men' Sequel Starts Filming Next January
MTV News - almost 5 years
Jennifer Lawrence is a certified all-star now. Not only is she the leading lady in the top-grossing movie of the year, but she also has movie studios filming their upcoming blockbusters around her schedule. At least that's the case according to The Hollywood Reporter. Their Heat Vision blog is reporting that 20th Century Fox is planning the shooting schedule for the "X-Men: First Class" sequel around Lawrence's commitment to "The Hunger Games" sequel, "Catching Fire." Take that, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender! Fox is slating the "X-Men: First Class" sequel for a January 2013 start date. Originally the studio planned to have the film start lensing in the fall, but that would have been in direct conflict with "Catching Fire." If Fox had wanted to start shooting their film in the fall, though, Lawrence would have had to go along with it as the studio would have been able to exercise the sequel clause in her contract, which was signed before she joined "The Hunger Games." Viewing pleasures: Summer cinematic heroics now on DVD
LGBT Weekly- San Diego - over 5 years
Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman in Thor Remember way back in 1984, when Bonnie Tyler informed us musically on the Footloose soundtrack that “I Need A Hero?” Well, she must have been beside herself this summer with so many cinematic heroics to choose from. Let’s just say there were some good efforts, and at least one celluloid case of “better luck next time” that are making their way to home viewing in the guise of recently released DVDs. Thor Speaking of the latter, at about the halfway mark for Thor, it becomes rather apparent that the inevitable sequel will be great. But, as it stands as a one-off superhero feature film, it was a tad disappointing. Whether, it was the fact that True Blood vampire Alexander Skarsgard (sigh, he’s dreamy) might have made a better God of Thunder than Chris Hemsworth (although, he’s a bit more on the beefcake side of body types), or that Natalie Portman seems to be perpetuating the post-Oscar win acti ...
