Air Chief Commandant Dame Ruth Mary Eldridge Dalzell Welsh, DBE, ED, known as Mary Welsh, was the third Director of the British Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF), from August 1944 to November 1946. She died, aged 89, in 1986.
