This 'Homoji' Keyboard Brings Queer Shorthand To Your Text Messages
Huffington Post - 9 days
Members of the gay community now have a new and amusing way to express themselves in text messages, thanks to a colorful emoji keyboard.  Produced by MajestyK Apps, the “Homojis” made their debut on Valentine’s Day, allowing users to share thoughts such as “slay” and “yaas” visually and succinctly. Other images include a rainbow-clad “gym bunny” and a quirky “otter,” descriptive terms used by gay men to identify themselves within the community at large.   The keyboard, which is available on the Apple iTunes store, premiered Tuesday with more than 100 unique emojis, although new ones will be added down the line. The concept, MajestyK’s Vice President Mark Garcia said in a press release, was “to create a social experience that truly speaks to how gay men and women communicate with one another.”  It’s a perfectly digital way to encourage acceptance and keep up with gay culture, one text message at a time. Check out some of the “Homojis” below.   For the latest news that ma ...

There's a delicious flavor movement taking hold.
Bolivar Mo News - over 4 years
(NAPSI)—There’s a delicious flavor movement taking hold. Food lovers are embracing real, focused flavors over complex presentations that are more like science experiments than recipes. Guided by the motto that “the most memorable food is often the simplest,” now we are celebrating quality ingredients at their peak of flavor with straightforward preparations. This trend is identified in the McCormick Flavor Forecast 2012 as Simplicity Shines. Midtown NoHo NC Approves Funding For Whitnall Dog Park Lights
North Hollywood- Toulca Lake Pat - almost 5 years
At its monthly meeting on Wednesday, the Midtown NoHo Neighborhood Council voted to fund the lights at the Whitnall Off-Leash Dog Park for a year, starting in July. Last month, in what was believed to have been a close 7-6 vote, the council voted to stop funding the lights, even though the Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council had voted to fund half of the annual cost, which is $846. However, the tabulation of the votes had been miscalculated, and the vote was actually a 6-6 tie. After the meeting, the mistake was discovered, and according to Department of Neighborhood Empowerment rules, the issue had to be re-voted on, according to MTNHNC President Mary Garcia. If the council had decided against funding the lights, the decision could have turned them off at the park for the third time in a year. See previous stories, and the attached video from 2011: WATCH: Lights Back on at Whitnall Dog Park The Lights Go Out at Whitnall Dog Park... Again Midtown NoHo Council V ...
