'Gossip Girl' Here
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Attention, Upper East Siders: Rufus and Lily are back in town. "Gossip Girl" stars Matthew Settle and Kelly Rutherford -- who had an on-again off-again relationship throughout all six seasons of the CW series -- are headed to Lifetime's original movie "A Sister's Nightmare," also starring Petyon List and Natasha Henstridge. Lifetime has described "A Sister's Nightmare" as centering on "an intense sibling rivalry and dark family secrets. After fifteen years of hospitalization for being criminally insane, Cassidy (Henstridge) is finally released and reenters the life of her younger sister, Jane (Rutherford). But when a dangerous rivalry and past familiarities return, Jane is unable to prove her sister is still harmful to society and takes matters into her own hands to protect her family." Although "Gossip Girl" has been off the air for nearly eight months, Rutherford admitted to having her fingers crossed for a "Gossip Girl" movie. "Hopefully [creators Stephanie Sav ...

Ben Lerner: Gossip Girl: Why It's Time for the Final XOXO
Huffington Post - over 4 years
When The CW's teen drama Gossip Girl leapt onto television screens in 2007, it served the purpose indicated by its title. Simply put, it made millions of girls gossip. The chief, but not sole, demographic was high school females, who buzzed about the "scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite." The program, based on a Cecily von Ziegesar's bestselling book series of the same name, revolved around the privileged prep school students on the Upper East Side, and the titular character -- an omniscient, anonymous blogger who chronicles their very public lives. The show's stars -- notably Blake Lively -- skyrocketed to fame. Now in its sixth and final season, Gossip Girl has, most would admit, fallen from grace. While it was never a lauded Emmy-winning series, even devoted fans note the superiority of the scandal depicted in the first two seasons, when the characters were in their final years of private high school. Although it was never rooted in reality or accessibility, the eye-ro ...

Spotted on the Upper East Side: Taylor Momsen and Connor Paolo shooting scenes for the sixth and final season of Gossip Girl. The onscreen pals and one-time step-siblings were photographed on set in New York City October 16. Series regulars Blake Lively, 25, Penn Badgley, 25, and Kelly Rutherford, 43, also reported to work that day. (Lively, who wed her Green Lantern costar Ryan Reynolds, 35, in a rustic ceremony September 7, was spotted wearing her wedding ring in between takes.) PHOTOS: Gossip Girl's best style moments Momsen, 19, went on an "indefinite hiatus" from the CW series in November 2010. Six months later, Us Weekly confirmed she would no longer be playing Constance Billard High School student Jenny Humphrey, little sister to Dan (Badgley). The blonde star later told ELLE she'd "quit acting" altogether and planned to focus primarily on her band, The Pretty Reckless. This Is What You Get When You Mix Open Bars, Celebrities, Tech Executives And Astrophysicists
Business Insider - over 4 years
Gizmodo, io9 and Brew PR threw a big tech bash last night at New York's American Museum of Natural History. It was cohosted by Foursquare's Dennis Crowley, Gawker founder Nick Denton and American Museum of Natural History president, Ellen Futter. There was also a fireside chat with astrophysicist and Hayden Planetarium Director, Neil deGrasse Tyson. All guests were asked to wear cocktail attire which stumped at least half of the tech crowd. But between the agenda, multi-floor open bar and the guests, Gizmodo threw quite the soiree. Guests included All Things D's Kara Swisher, GroupMe co-founder Steve Martocci, Kickstarter's Perry Chen, and Gilt Groupe's Kevin Ryan. Gossip Girl actor Matthew Settle was also in attendance. The event was held in the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan. It took place in the planetarium and on its surrounding floors. Laura Prudom: 'Gossip Girl' Recap: Sins of the Father (and Mother) Cause Chaos
Huffington Post - almost 5 years
Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 5, Episode 21 of The CW's "Gossip Girl," entitled "Despicable B." How do you solve a problem like Blair Waldorf? Our staple "Gossip Girl" anti-heroine has been suffering from something of an identity crisis over the past couple of seasons, lurching from man to man and plan to plan with none of her former wit or withering disdain. The good thing about "Despicable B" is that the writers have apparently wised up to the fact that she's had totally bipolar characterization for a while now, and I guess it's better late than never to address that imbalance. We all know that the show is never going to recapture the glory days of its first two seasons, but this week's episode was at least a little less blunt-force obvious than "Salon of the Dead" -- enough for us to scrape together five OMG moments ... var src_url="http://pshared.5min.com/Scripts/PlayerSeed.js?playList=517345579&height=411&width=570&sid=577&videoG ...

Melissa Berkelhammer: A Scottish Evening of Fashion and Fun
Huffington Post - almost 5 years
"His calves are bigger than my thighs," mused fellow judge Nigel Barker about Scottish Rugby star Richie Gray, one of the many notables who represented on the runway at Monday night's "From Scotland with Love," the annual kick-off to Tartan Week in the U.S. Now in its tenth year, the event was a dynamic mix of the old and new. To wit: the name of the event itself, formerly known as "Dressed to Kilt." New charities were involved as well. The two main beneficiaries of the evening were Cash for Kids, which aids children of Scotland who live in poverty, and The Wounded Warrior Project, which helps American soldiers returning home from conflict in Iraq. A few of those soldiers joined the celebrities and models on the runway to much fanfare. It was the latter cause that attracted the involvement of actress Jill Hennessy, a first-time model at the fete. Arriving on the red carpet in Marni for H&M and a Wounded Warrior bracelet, she enthused: "I've been supporting Wounde ...
