Jason Reitman Wants Adam Sandler To Star In 'Men, Women & Children'
Huffington Post - over 3 years
Jason Reitman, the man with two Best Director nominations out of four released feature films, wants to get in the Adam Sandler business. That's the news from Toronto, where Reitman is putting together an adaptation of Chad Kultgen's novel "Men, Women & Children" with the hope of casting Sandler, Rosemarie DeWitt and Jennifer Garner in lead roles. (Cameron Diaz was mentioned by TheWrap as a possibility as well.) Published in June of 2011, "Men, Women & Children" "explores the sexual pressures of junior high school students and their parents navigating the internet’s shared landscape of pornography, blogs, social networking, and its promise of opportunities, escapes, reinvented identities, and unexpected conflicts." According to THR, Reitman has already written the script for "Men, Women & Children" and will likely shoot the film in November. That makes the fourth quarter of 2013 even busier for the 35-year-old, as his latest film, "Labor Day," is set for release by Paramoun ...

There Will Be Dud: Paul Thomas Anderson’s First Mediocre Movie
The New Republic - over 4 years
The Master WELL, AT LEAST IT’S PRETENTIOUS, and that’s a start in an age when too many films are hardly trying. In a devastating bargain with us and themselves, most modern American movies are content with seeking to make a little money and re-telling some same old story. Nobody could accuse The Master of being confined in those dead ends. Yet its distributors, the Weinstein brothers, know that nothing yet has altered the American dream of making a lot of money while being sensational and digging into our nervous system and the last chance that we have for existence and hope. Look at Apple. There was no film I was looking forward to more than Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master, and now it is here. It’s a mess; it’s pretentious; it is thundery with dismay. It may be acclaimed in the anxiety that grips many film critics. But the best and most interesting thing to be said about it is that a young master has gone off the deep end and found no water in the pool. So it makes you laugh out l ...

MOVIE REVIEW | 'LOVE RANCH'; Attraction and Possibility When Sex Is Just Business
NYTimes - over 6 years
No matter how unstrung her characters become, Helen Mirren holds something in reserve. An awareness of the weaknesses of the flesh and the pleasures of surrendering to those weaknesses flickers in her eyes and in the faint half-smile that plays around her lips. She knows. FILM REVIEWS; Lovers Striving for a Reunion, With a War in the Way
NYTimes - about 13 years
Were it not for a gruesomely violent battle sequence at the beginning, a smattering of profanity and an occasional glimpse of unclothed flesh, ''Cold Mountain'' might easily be mistaken for the product of an earlier era of movie-making.
