A varietal of rose discovered by Betsy Dening, a British Columbia horticulturalist and Michel's aunt, debuted at the World Rose Festival in 2010 as the "Michel Trudeau Memorial Rosebush". Sales of the rosebush benefit the Canadian Avalanche Foundation.
