Cringe-Worthy Video Shows What NOT To Do When You Match Your Colleague
Huffington Post - about 1 month
Some people can laugh it off when they show up to work wearing the same outfit as their colleague. Australian news anchor Amber Sherlock, it appears, is not one of those people. Sherlock (center) and co-anchor Julie Snook (left) appeared on air with psychologist Sandy Rea (right) for a segment for 9 News Wednesday, in which it became clear as the three appeared on camera that they were all wearing what appeared to be the color white.   A visibly annoyed Sherlock demands that Snook put on a jacket. After Snook explains that she had been busy and forgot, Sherlock laments that she told her to do it “two hours ago.”  Snook, who clarified that her dress was actually blue, even offered to sit out of the segment entirely.  Eventually the camera cuts out and Snook reappears in a black jacket, likely brought over by one of the producers. Snook and Sherlock released a joint statement following the incident, in which Sherlock said she “probably overreacted” and cr ...

'Almost Human' Is Almost Perfect
Huffington Post - over 3 years
At first glance, "Almost Human" has a little "Total Recall"/"Blade Runner" going on. And while that might make the new Fox show seem dated, on the contrary, the futuristic cop series works because there is absolutely nothing like it on television. Sure, the buddy cop genre has been tackled to death, as has the partners-who-clash concept, but "Almost Human" is so delightfully different because of two very important things: the impeccable writing and the two leads. Karl Urban ("Star Trek") and Michael Ealy ("Common Law," another cop dramedy that centred on feuding partners -- but didn't work) make a wonderful team as Det. John Kennex and android Dorian, respectively. There were hiccups initially, of course. In Sunday's premiere, John was apprehensive of any robot partner and we understood why, but after tossing his latest robo-partner out of the car, he was eventually paired with Dorian and they seem to be a match made in high-tech heaven (well, a 2048 heaven filled with hovercraft car ...

J.J. Abrams Goes Behind The Scenes Of 'Almost Human' (VIDEO)
Huffington Post - over 3 years
J.J. Abrams has a lot on his plate these days with the future of both the "Star Trek" and "Star Wars" franchises in his hands, but he has set aside some time to return to TV as executive producer on the new Fox series "Almost Human." Set 30 years in the future, "Almost Human" is Abrams' latest foray into sci-fi. It depicts a future so violent that each police officer is assigned an android partner. Abrams and fellow executive producer J.H. Wyman have re-teamed after working together on "Fringe" for their latest series which gives the buddy cop formula a robotic twist when detective John Kennex (played by Karl Urban) is assigned an android partner played by Michael Ealy. Minka Kelly from "Friday Night Lights" and Lili Taylor also star. "The fun of the show is to see what's possible, the potential of what's just around the corner and the beauty of a TV series is, if you're lucky, you get to continue doing that," Abrams says in the video above. In the video above Abrams and Wyman sho ...

11 Of This Year's Biggest Movies Almost Starred Someone Else
Business Insider - over 3 years
"Gravity" may be a huge success at the box office, but director Alfonso Cuarón didn't initially envision Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in the film's lead roles. Instead, Cuarón was hoping for Angelina Jolie and Robert Downey Jr. When Jolie passed, Natalie Portman was offered the role. We all know who ended up getting the gigs. But casting swaps in Hollywood are nothing new. In fact, many of this year's biggest movies initially had different actors attached. See who could have starred in your favorite films, according to Vulture: "Oz, the Great and Powerful": Robert Downey Jr. was initially signed on but dropped out over creative differences with director Sam Raimi. Raimi then tried to cast Johnny Depp, but he was committed to "The Lone Ranger." James Franco eventually got the role as the wizard, and the actor was able to command a $7 million paycheck for filling-in last-minute. 'Full Circle' review: Old play comes around again
San Francisco Chronicle - over 3 years
Neil LaBute is bringing his provocative view of human relationships to DirecTV with "Full Circle," a 10-episode drama about people you probably wouldn't want to spend 10 minutes with. The episodes, which correspond to scenes in "La Ronde," take place in a restaurant too preciously named Ellipsis, with the opening scene pairing unhappily married Bridgette (Minka Kelly, "Friday Night Lights"), with her lover, Tim (Tom Felton, "Harry Potter"). Critics often get one or two episodes of a normally structured series, but in this case, sending four "scenes" of LaBute's "play" is equivalent to sending Act 1, Scene 1; Act 4, Scene 6; and Act 5, Scene 2 of "Hamlet." [...] in the next episode, entertainment lawyer Stanley meets his obnoxious, homophobic, misogynistic client, Jace (David Boreanaz, "Bones"), a standup comic. No one comes off as very likable in the four episodes sent to critics, but all the characters are fascinating, often as much for what we suspect about their inner nature as ...

Congrats Kim and Kanye! On giving your baby THE DUMBEST NAME EVER. by Ann Romano MONDAY, JUNE 17 Exciting news, kiddos! As we reported last week, we couldn't give two shits whether Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby was born or not... however, we DO care very deeply about what idiotic name they'll bestow upon the unlucky little girl. And thus far? They refuse to officially release the name. But! We unofficially know and are 100 percent certain that Kim K and Kanye's doomed love child will NOT be "North West"—because Kim pooh-poohed that terrible idea on a recent interview with Jay Leno. Phew! While we hate Kim Kardashian with the blinding hot fury of a million suns, we wouldn't wish that ridiculously stupid name on anyone. So what name is currently at the top of the list? Well, in the same interview with Leno, Kim said, "I do like Easton... Easton West." OH, DEAR, GOD, NO. MEANWHILE... Speaking of terrible people doing terrible th ...

GOING STRONG
Huffington Post - almost 4 years
Captain America Chris Evans is still going strong with newly-blond girlfriend Minka Kelly, and the two were seen holding hands last night after attending Jessica Alba's birthday bash in Los Angeles, Calif. Rumors of the couple rekindling their romance started back in September, after dating briefly back in 2007 (it was said that Kelly hurt Evans pretty badly at the time). They were seen again in October trying to hide from the paparazzi and on Valentine's Day, again trying to go incognito. Now we know that fame hasn't taken its toll on the photogenic pair, and Evans and Kelly are still very much an item. Kelly previously dated Yankees baseball player Derek Jeter for three years before they broke up the first time in August 2011. After their second split in March of 2012, the 32-year-old actress was linked to former "That 70s show" star Wilmer Valderrama. She was also reportedly linked to actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
