Nikki Reed And Nina Dobrev Finally Put Those 'Frenemy' Rumors To Rest
Huffington Post - 12 days
If you took one look at the headlines that emerged about Nikki Reed and Nina Dobrev in recent years, you’d think the two were mortal enemies. In reality, they’re great friends. The perceived drama between Reed and Dobrev began in 2014, when Reed started dating Dobrev’s ex-boyfriend and “Vampire Diaries” co-star, Ian Somerhalder. Magazines and entertainment sites seized on the love triangle, even while all parties insisted that they had nothing but respect for each other. Well, Reed and Dobrev refuse to stay silent any longer. Reed, who married Somerhalder in April 2015, shared a powerful Instagram post Tuesday, taking aim at the “low-brow websites” and magazines that have perpetuated rumors about her supposed feud with Dobrev. A photo posted by Nikki Reed (@iamnikkireed) on Feb 7, 2017 at 10:51am PST ”For the last few years we thought addressing any baseless rumors with silence was the best way,” Reed captioned a photo of Dobrev, Somerhalder and he ...

Jane Fonda And Shailene Woodley To Serve Thanksgiving Meals At Standing Rock
Huffington Post - 3 months
Jane Fonda and Shailene Woodley will help serve around 500 Thanksgiving meals to people protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline at Standing Rock on Thursday, The Associated Press reports.  The Dakota Dispatch reports the actresses, who will be among a delegation of 50 people from around the United States brought together by author Judy Wicks, will serve a Wopila Feast to the protestors ― who call themselves “water protectors” ― to thank them for their bravery in fighting to defend the land.  Fonda, a political activist, has been posting stories about the Dakota Access Pipeline protests on social media. Just last week, she shared a link to a short film about the Sioux tribe’s fight and urged her followers to watch.  Meanwhile, Woodley has spent plenty of time with the people at Standing Rock, and was arrested with 26 other protestors back in October. The actress has been vocal about her opposition to the DAPL, speaking out about it during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth ...

Nikki Reed To Donald Trump: ‘C. U. Next Tuesday’ At The Polls
Huffington Post - 4 months
Nikki Reed wants Donald Trump (and all the men who think like him) to know one thing: Nasty women vote ― and they’re voting on Tuesday.  Reed partnered up with pro-Clinton volunteer organization Humanity for Hillary for a powerful video about how a vote for Trump is a vote against women’s interests.  Reed says that Trump is “a candidate who reminds us of the worst men in our lives... men who saw a powerful woman and tried to block her rise.” And what is one of the choice insults men like that use to cut women down who they feel threatened by? It’s spelled C-U-N-T.  Speaking of “cunt,” Reed has a strong message for all the Trumps of the world: To Donald Trump, and to every man like Donald Trump ― who grabbed us, blocked us, who called us fat, unqualified, stupid, ugly, and a cunt ― We have one thing to say.  C. U. Next Tuesday. Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, ...

Red Carpet Trend Report: The Scoop on Black and White, Velvet and Neon-on-Neon (in the Fall?!)
People Magazine - over 3 years
Johns PKI/Splash News Online In our weekly roundup of the looks that are gaining fashion ground (and the ones losing their style street cred), we noticed black and white happening in a big way, velvet in unexpected pieces and one super-bright look that missed the mark. Up: Black and White. This color palette keeps popping up on the red carpet. And this week, stars did the classic combo in a very chic, graphic way. Allison Williams led the pack in a colorblock halter gown at the Exploring the Arts Gala in N.Y.C. The most fashionable teen celeb in the biz, Hailee Steinfeld (okay she’s tied with Kiernan Shipka), wore geometric-print Thakoon Addition separates at an Ender’s Game photocall in London — a bold finish to her black-and-white promo tour style. And rounding out the group, Avril Lavigne threw us all for a loop in an unexpectedly restrained peplum colorblock Basler design at the Huading Image Awards in Macao, China. Up: Velvet. The luxe fabric has slowly been gaining mo ...

Lauren Conrad selected a garden-party-appropriate design for the launch of her BlueAvocado line in Beverly Hills. Taylor Swift went for a romantic look in a rose-printed Reem Acra dress at the Hollywood premiere of Romeo & Juliet. Red Carpet Trend Report: Kicky Jackets, Yellow Dresses and Letting Our Hair Down
People Magazine - almost 4 years
