Demi Moore And Ashton Kutcher Are Officially Divorced
Huffington Post - about 3 years
More than two years after Demi Moore announced she was ending her marriage to Ashton Kutcher, the former couple is officially divorced. After months of rumors that negotiations were holding up the process, the couple finally reached a settlement on Oct. 31, however, Moore did not get the spousal support she was reported to be seeking. According to TMZ, Kutcher's lawyer Laura Wasser filed the documents to officially end their six-year marriage on Nov. 26. Moore, 51, announced back in November 2011 that she would be leaving Kutcher following reports that he cheated on her with Sara Leal while he was in San Diego. Though the actor denied the cheating allegations, months later, Moore decided it was time to end their marriage, telling The Associated Press: "As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life." For reasons that remain unclear, the actress never filed for ...

Fishies’ fresh water treat: News helps Batley duck pond
Batley & Birstall News - almost 5 years
BEFORE the cold snap returned, the recent sunny weather had keeping cool top of the agenda for many of us. And for some goldfish in Staincliffe, some cool, fresh water proved a real treat. The News arranged for a duck pond on Longlands Road to be visited by Kirklees Council staff after a local nature enthusiast raised concerns about the welfare of the little swimmers. Peter Morton, of Mortimer Street in Healey, said he had seen the water level at the pond drop to a worrying level over the last six weeks. He said: “I went to the pond last week and just sat there for half an hour. “I could see fish jumping up, gasping for air. “The water was stale; there was no oxygen in the water.” Mr Morton, a keen fisherman, added that if we had more sunny weather, the water level could drop even further, endangering the life of the fish. He said the pond, a popular picnic spot, was home to hundreds of goldfish. The News contacted the council on Thursday and officers sent community rangers to ...

Edward Scheetz, a Morgans’ executive, described the 11-story, 670-room Hard Rock Hotel as a "trophy property" that will never be replicated in Las Vegas because of land values. The Hard Rock pool alone, ranked #1 of the top 10 hotel pools by Travel Channel, occupies land valued at $50 million. Morton later founded and remains the owner one of Los Angeles’ quintessential dining power spots - Morton’s (not to be confused with Morton's of Chicago). For almost two decades, the ability to get a table at The Ivy or Morton's has defined the level of importance and clout a person possesses in Hollywood.
